My neighbor’s two year old loves these but my one year old son is still a little too young.Watch the kids with them though because if they press too hard, they can scratch the white coating off and ruin them.If you are worried about this, put a little Tupperware bowl with some water on the table and let them do it like fingerprint.

These are great entertainment for my toddler! I found one - it was the only one - at the local drug store and bought it on a whim for my son. He loves it! Then I looked on Amazon and saw they have multi-packs, with (6) different themes. As long as you fill the water pen, these books can be used anywhere - for travel, doctor appointments, sitting on the sofa, lying in bed when your child isn't feeling well, anyplace. I only fill the brush about a quarter-full at most, when my son is using these at home. The only problem is that you can't store the "paint" brush if it still has water in it, because it will leak out and warp the cover and possibly damage anything else nearby. These make wonderful, inexpensive gifts for young children!

These are actually pretty cool. The downsides are that after coloring slowly a few times while discovering how to use them, they quickly figure out how to color an entire page in about 1 minute lol. So they don’t last too long each time. The worst thing is that some of them got pretty bad scratches the first or second use. They are permanent, but still color in. The books just might not last as long with that coating scratched off.

These are great for keeping or gifting! They travel well, with minimal space and fuss! We haven’t had a paintbrush leak water yet! 🙏🏼If you’re comfortable keeping some water in the brush’s water tank (as we are; note, though: some water, not a full tank!), they are grab and go! They’re great for car rides, store trips, appointments,... any time a wait may be expected or a distraction might be helpful!We’ve also enjoyed growing with Melissa & Doug and especially with the Water Wow sets. We learned quickly after the first casualty (Vehicles): ground rules are helpful even for these! Gentle brushing, quick trips around the white areas (I.e. better to go back to a spot instead of soaking it by painting over it several times in quick succession) and ONLY use the paintbrush from the kit!It’s been helpful to start with higher-interest themes, such as dinosaurs or vehicles, and to grow into ABCs and 123s with some growth & practice.Four stars only because it would seem that the pages would be a bit more resilient than we’ve found them to be, given the target age ranges. The pages still work after light scratching from heavy use, but the scratches are apparent.Buy these! Keep a set to use and one to use as gifts!

I was surprised and disappointed to see that the coloring pages aren’t double sided. Of the 8 page booklet only 4 are for coloring on. Maybe it says that and I missed it? The packaging being stuck to the boards was kind of confusing at first. I thought it was a solid back at the end that was meant to be attached and got scared I was ripping the book apart, but I wasn’t. I feel like there is a better way of packaging this so you don’t have to rip that back off that you don’t need, and try and not uncoil it.Other than those few things, my 5 and 2 year old love them and they’ve kept them busy for a good 30 minutes. These will definitely come in handy at restaurants for my toddler and other places we have a wait.For this being a Melissa and Doug toy I was just expecting more.

I bought these for my son as something new to do during quarantine, but also something that we could use to entertain him on long road trips or flights.I love that it is so clean!!!!! I can’t stress that enough. I do t have to worry about paint or crayon or pieces of play dough like other toys. They are also fun and we can look at and point out new things with each use.I had to knock off one star because of the durability. My son is 15 months, so I know he’s younger than the intended age range, but he managed to press so hard, part of the coloring page ripped off. Not a huge deal as each book has multiple pages, but it is possible to damage.On the plus side, the pages seem to dry pretty quickly so you can re-use them again. Lightweight and easy to throw in a purse, diaper bag or backpack make it ideal to keep around for doctors visits or restaurants etc.I would recommend these 100 times over.

So easy to fill the paint brush pen with water and let them "paint." The colors on the Melissa and Doug brand of these paint with water reusable pages have colors that are SO MUCH MORE vibrant than the other or off-brands. We love them so much that we literally have over a dozen of these....vehicles, farm, ocean, dinosaurs, dress up, silly animals, bible, shapes, numbers, ABCs, jungle....and we use them EVERY single day. Very durable and I love that there is a place built right into the cover to store the water pen "paintbrush."

Honestly, knowing Melissa and Doug makes quality products, I expected these to be good. But they still blew me away! They work SO well. The brush doesn’t leak, is easy to fill, easy to hold, and releases a good amount of water - just enough to make the colors appear without drenching the page. The colors and hidden pictures that appear with the water are vibrant and cool. And they are reusable! The pages dry completely and turn white again so you can color them over and over. And they don’t dry right away. You can color the entire page and it will hold the color for quite awhile before it fades. I’m honestly very impressed and will be taking these when I am flying cross country alone with my toddler.

My son is ACTIVE and always wants me playing with him. When I have to do things (make dinner, feed newborn, lay in bed an extra 15 minutes etc) I usually give him the iPad. I hate doing that too often; so I’ve been trying to find things that he will enjoy but doesn’t need me to participate. These are amazing! I’m glad I went with the 6 pack cause he does “paint” every card which keeps him busy for at least 20minutes. So far they’ve all dried and look brand new but we’ve only used them a few times. You need very little water too so it’s not messy at all. I would let him do this in my bed, in the car on the couch. 10/10 would buy again!

My son's (3 & 19 months) are not prone to table activities BUT this was a game changer. They love this. Be careful cause the images can get scratches and then the water had no effect.I bought this bundle because it was the most economical option. I wish a third party would come out with a similar product in order to get better price for this activity. Melissa and Doug products have lost the quality they use to produce. Now you pay more for lesser quality.

These are fantastic for little ones who love to paint. Great fun without the mess. They are really nice bright colourful pictures with lots of little search and find activities as well. It does say age 3 and up but I do them with 2 year olds and they love them. You can’t go wrong with Melissa and Doug products. I highly recommend these. I love that they have so many themes. Great price.

Got these On the Go water-reveal pads for my 4 years old to practice writing the alphabets and numbers. The pen would be much better for the little hands if it was slightly thinner and longer. Remember to always empty the water pen before putting it back into the storage area. I forgot to empty one pen and the water leaked and ruined the entire pad.

Bought these for my twins and also to gift to other toddlers. It’s really cool to see the colours appear when the water touches the pages. My kids are a bit rough with the pens and scraped off the top layer of the pages in some spots. They also drew over a page with crayon. This made some of the pages unusable. But if your kids are not wild animals then this is really cool! The colours are vivid and totally disappear when dry. There are hidden shapes and images so make sure you “colour” the entire page. Drying time is pretty quick as long as you’re not drenching the page with water. Again if your kids colour the pages in a normal way then they’ll love it. The pen holder is handy as well if you don’t rip it off like mine was. Totally recommend for kids who know how to be somewhat gentle with their books and toys.
