Ami Ami Kittens: Seriously Cute Crochet!

For an advanced crocheter, one may be able to follow. However, being newer is a challenge. My wife says there is no explanation on the mouth, ears and legs about how you do each row (i.e. in rounds our single crochet up and down). The ears start with 5 and then increase 2 and increase 3 on last row, when she believes it should be decrease 2 and then decrease 3 on last row. Other than that, the book is great. Just may need to youtube or use trial and error to figure it all out.

As if the kitty patterns weren't cute enough on their own, each one is featured with teensy little props. Too adorable!The first half of the book features each of the 12 breeds - calico, scottish fold, solid white, ragdoll, munchkin, bicolors, british shorthair, russian blue, american shorthair, siamese, tabby, and tuxedo. Following this is the supplies list, general techniques section and assembly instructions. Then comes each individual pattern. I just got the book today so I have not yet made anything, but everything looks very clear.There are also patterns if you would like to make kitty finger puppets, key chains, magnets, or pin badges.Really, really cute! Squeeeeee!!!

I love Mitsuki Hoshi's amigurumi books. She is very talented. Her books are best for individuals who have some crochet experience and knowledge working with diagrams, color change, and crochet terms. I have the Ami Ami dogs books and love them all. It should be noted that the row counts along side the diagrams are numbered from bottom to top vs. top to bottom. Once you work thru the challenge of making one it gets easier.

This book is adorable!! As others have said it's not for beginners. The instructions are better suited to someone who already knows the basics and has made amigurumi before.The patterns are great though. And the pictures in this book are really fun! My daughter is 2 and loves looking at all the pictures with me and she laughs at some of the different things the silly kitties are doing. :) So this has ended up being a great buy for me!

Sadly, moving has cut into my crafting time, but the bits I was able to get done before my craft things got packed went quickly and easily. FYI, the book does not list yarn weight, but I used Knit Picks sport weight Palette yarn and my kitty head came out the exact same size as the pictures.

I ordered this book for my 10 year old that has been crocheting for a year. She found these directions the easiest to understand of any book she has used. This is the first book she didn't need my help with the patterns. Plus the patterns are just so cute.

Bought this as a gift for my wife, and she loves it. She had mentioned an interesting in learning to make things like this (she already knits everything else from large blankets, to hats, and earmuffs), so this book was right up her alley. For reference, she has the phsycial print edition of this book, and all the instructions and patterns are very clear, and very easy to read and understand.

Cute little projects, however you might need to flip back and forth from the beginning were the pictures with the explanations to the schema. Very annoying when using the kindle edition and I wished to have chosen the hard copy instead.

Absolutely perfect! Love thus book the crochet kittens are so cute... Now I just have to teach myself to crochet

Good if you like working from charts but not so good if you prefer written patterns.
