DonvierPremier Ice Cream Maker Red, 1 Quart

Product was broken when it arrived and it was not red returned it

This is the most amazing ice cream maker. We now have two 1 quart, one pint, and one half pint ice cream makers. So weather we have 1 person, 2 people, or 12 people who want ice cream we can make it up in a jiffy. We love cranking up a batch of home made ice cream but don't like the mess of the traditional ice cream makers with all the ice melting. This makes absolutely wonderful ice cream with no mess!

Extremely easy to use, easy to clean item. I love the fact that it doesn't require any electricity to power it. Just freeze the canister overnight before hand, and turn the handle a few times every few minutes. Your ice cream will taste wonderful, even when it is still soft serve in the canister. I find that the ice cream does need to be frozen overnight, or for 4-5 hours after it comes out of the Donvier. At which point, post freeze, the ice cream becomes as solid as a rock. I'm not sure what it is (regardless of custard or other ice cream base I've used) but it's frozen so solid I have to cut it into chunks with a knife. Unlike store bought ice cream where even when it is frozen solid it is still possible to scoop it.I probably will not keep my Donvier, because I am not a regular ice cream eater, and the hardness of the resulting ice cream doesn't appeal to me. But if you have a large family, and eat ice cream regularly, right after you make it, this is definitely a fun and easy product for you and your kids to use.

This particular one was advertised as red and was actually white. Came used and dirty. I missed the fact that it was a used item. Cleaned up ok with soap and water. Besides that issue my Donvier always makes good ice cream!

The bottom part of the outer shell was broken upon receipt and falls off every time the unit is picked up. Functionally adequate, but annoying, especially for the price. Also, the unit received was yellow, not red.

Amazing how well it works. Kids love to help, and it makes just the right amount for a family treat. We used it for our 4th of July celebration and there was enough for 3 adults and 4 kids. We made persimmon ice cream, so it's fun to try things you don't find in stores

I like the concept as well as the design. Making the load-bearing components, such as the crank and gear, out of metal would help it last longer. Otherwise, good product!

This is a great machine to make ice-cream and other cold desserts in. I have used a Donvier for years so I bought this one for my father but I end up making the ice-cream with it and he enjoys the fruits of labor. There are so many recipes on the internet and I get creative on my own. A fun thing to do with family and friends.
