Excellent for occasional use, once you get used to it
Coming from a BOC oxyacetylene torch, I wanted something I could have in the workshop at home and this fit the bill perfectly. No rental on cylinders so it doesnโt matter if it sits unused for months and for anything but heating the cylinders last long enough for a few hours work. There are some important differences to be aware of however: MAP/Pro has different flame characteristics from acetylene so youโll have to get used to the different behaviour of the cone and feather. The tips on these are not a straight hole and there is a flame-retainer (annular ring around the main nozzle fed with the same mixture to improve stability). Youโll struggle to use enough fuel to reach the โfeatheryโ yellow flame when starting up, so forget that method. Portability: Itโs definitely movable with only one hand, plus the extra nozzles and spannerโs for changing them if you need. The cylinders are held securely in the frame, which is nicely coated sheet steel. The handle is a bit sharp, so put some grommet strip around it. It will be most helpful to put the cylinders on the same surface youโre working on, rather than on the floor, as youโll need to adjust the regulators. Economy: The fuel is the same as most blowtorches use and lasts forever as it is liquified, however this presents issues when the temperature is low or youโre using enough gas to drop the cylinderโs temperature - your pressure will drop. The oxygen is compressed to 110 bar and not liquified, so it runs out much quicker. Itโs somewhere in the range of 6 O2 cylinders to 1 fuel cylinder. Fuel tends to be around ยฃ20 and O2 ยฃ30, and itโs always good to have a spare O2 on hand so always buy a multipack for better value. Expect to pay the price of the torch again in consumables just to get up and running. Regulators: The regs are decent quality but built down to a price, which given they have internal flashback arresters isnโt a bad thing when the time comes to replace them. Both have gauges however, inexplicably, the O2 gauge only shows the cylinder pressure but the fuel gauge only shows the set pressure! So you canโt see how much fuel youโve got left, and you canโt see what pressure youโve set on the O2. Probably to do with the fuel being liquified but itโs weird and takes some getting used to. In addition, the O2 gauge goes up to 300bar when the cylinders are max. 110, so youโll never see the right-hand-side of it being used. If not using the torch for a long time it is recommended to unscrew the regs from the cylinders as the valve on the cylinders is guaranteed to seal completely. Lines: Durable, polymer coated, woven, heat resistant lines are permanently affixed to the torch, but as theyโre not rubber I donโt expect theyโll need replacing before the torch. Torch: The torch is tiny but mounted inside a comfortable plastic handle. Again, built in flashback arresters make this a consumable part. The needle valves are the only low quality part of the whole thing, with a light tap changing the flow significantly. The advice is to open these up full and use the regulators to adjust the flame, then use the valves on the torch for shutdown and striking up only, but they turn a lot of times and it gets irritating spinning them around and around every time. That and they stick up quite far so are easy to get knocked. Even when setting flow with the regs, low pressures on small nozzles result in extreme instability. O2 will virtually shut off before completely coming back again for no particular reason. Nozzles: Five nozzles are included of different sizes, and each is marked with the nominal flow rate. As usual, bigger tip for bigger jobs, higher temperatures or more conductive metals. Performance: With the smaller nozzles this makes an excellent jewellers torch, easily soldering the most delicate/chunkiest parts. WIth a medium nozzle itโs easy enough to melt down precious metals. The medium sizes are also great for brazing, just make sure to preheat large parts so as not to waste your expensive oxygen. The larger nozzles can dump an impressive amount of energy when needed, but wonโt give you much runtime. Waste: If you use this a bunch it will generate a lot of empty O2 cylinders, which cannot be refilled and also cannot be pierced before disposal, so check with your council/waste carrier if itโs allowed. It is sometimes possible to remove the valve with an impact gun, but sometimes it will shred the brass so donโt rely on this for disposal.

Rubbish
It's a con it will be ok for lighting candles but you are more likely to get enough heat to weld with hairdryer. I didn't get mine from Amazon but it's the first time I've wasted that much money.
