minimal and effective, but with a little bit of hassle
Cons: They're a bit awkward to use, as I had to hold them onto the phone while holding the phone. You're really using all your fingers when you bring these up to your face. Positioning them and repositioning them is a bit of a pain because they have to be a short distance apart for the (relatively average) distance between my eyes. And sometimes they slip a bit, and you have to stop using the app and reposition them and then find where you were again. Mine came without a QR code to configure Cardboard, but I tweeted at them and they provided it quickly. Maybe they include that now.Pros: I like the minimal design. They're compact, and really just what's necessary. Easier to keep in a bag with other junk than a bulkier cardboard case. They also feel fairly durable, at least compared with cardboard.Overall, I would recommend them for someone who is familiar with using binoculars and just wants to experience short, occasional VR videos. Generally, Cardboard is really a demo of what will be a more polished experience on newer (yet to be released) phones. VR Cups are well targeted for this use case.

VR Cups are a great way to turn your smart phone into a world of virtual reality. - RECOMMENDED!!!
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a review pair of these... they were sent to my office for evaluation because of some of the work we do in photography.Previously, I'd tried the google cardboard (another VR product), but was underwhelmed by the design of the clunky box and frankly would be embarrassed to pull it out in front of a client. VR cups look sleek, work as well as can be expected, have a much better viewing range and leave enough space to tap the screen of my phone while the cups are installed... so far so good, but...I've given them 5 stars but to give a bit of constructive feedback, I really think they could do with something like rubber holder on the base to perfect them, They come packaged with a protective film which wasn't immediately obvious to peel off so just my 2 cents. So all round a good experience, I keep them stuck on the wall by my desk. The gel stuff on the base works pretty well, kind of comparable to the jelly lens product, it does attract a bit of lint dust etc, after a bit of use but though can be washed off easily so doesn't really diminish from the product.I had a play with some of the apps recommended in the instructions, and I have to say Streetview is freaking awesome... I spent over an hour wandering the back streets of Venice, Italy... hahaha it was an amazing experience that left me craving pizza and gelato. On a more serious note... I also uploaded some CAD plans of a large loft conversion to Kubity and it was another great experience, walking round the place before it's even built! If you're curious about VR, check out this product. It is an affordable and great way to experience the magic or virtual reality.
