Interesting combination
This chocolate sounded pretty unusual, so had to give it a try to fulfil our excitement. White chocolate with hazelnut paste and crispies, which is also a protein bar? Chocolate but with no added sugar? Hmmmm….The chocolate came in a nice designed black cardboard wrapping, inside also wrapped in tin foil for the extra freshness. It’s 90g bar and contains 10 very large squares. The bar itself is very thin, much thinner than a normal ordinary chocolate from well known brands. The soya protein crispies makes 8%, the milk protein crispies 7%, the hazelnut paste 8% and whey protein isolate 12% of the ingredients. It’s gluten and sugar free, but even then you get the nice sweet white chocolate. The combination works perfectly. It’s a milk chocolate with no added sugar, but contains natural sugars and sweetener (maltitol. It’s a pretty unusual chocolate, great for someone working out and just needs the extra protein from time to time.

Oh yum!
Another great Frankonia chocolate bar. This one reminds us of a Milky Bar with the addition of Rice Crispies, plus a subtle nutty taste. Really nice, too easy to eat and went far too quickly :)Highly recommended.

Not bad for a diet-specific bar
For ‘health chocolate’, as we call it in this house (normally a bit disparagingly), this is actually not that bad. I should point out that despite ordering the white one though, I was sent the milk chocolate version instead, and that’s what I’m commenting on.If you really weren’t paying attention, you could easily think of this as a standard chocolate bar with bits in, but just a little bit less sweet than most. The high nut content and softness of it gives it a slightly Ferrero Rocher feel, but without the sense of indulgence, while the texture does feel a bit like a Nestle Crunch bar, but one that’s been left out in a warm room rather than one that’s firmed up from being in the fridge. At time of writing the price, of two quid fifty for a single bar of eight squares, is really very high- but that’s unfortunately par for the course for high protein and lower carb stuff. You wouldn’t choose this just for the taste if you didn’t have a dietary reason to do so, but if your diet restricts you (or your budget really doesn’t) then for ‘health chocolate’ this is worth a try.

Good, if you don't think of it as chocolate
As you can see from the photos, this bar is full of crispies - they have the texture of rice crispies, and they're surrounded by "chocolate"... the issue is, as I write, the after-taste is really lingering, and it's kind of unpleasant.Truth be told, when I started writing, I had given it 5 stars, then changed it to 4, and now to 3. It won't go any lower than that because, for what it is, this product is pretty good... but it's not something I would eat again, even if I wanted a guilt-free snack. The initial flavour is nice - it's not hazelnutty, but it's nice, and the texture is good; honestly, the texture reminds me of cheap supermarket chocolate but considering how it's made, that's genuinely impressive. The crispies are nice, and make it feel more satisfying. But the over all sensation isn't nearly as good, creamy or tasty as real chocolate. Mind you, if you're looking at this, chances are you don't want real chocolate, and if you're used to healthier versions, you may well thing this is incredible stuff. So now am wondering whether I should add another star... only the after-taste is *still* lingering. In fact, I'm going to make a coffee to take the taste away.

What is this? Chocolate or nut paste?
I was really looking forward to trying this chocolate bar as I thought it would be similar to Nestle White Crunch but with a hazelnut flavour, sounded delicious but sadly it was nowhere near my expectations. The good points:The presentation of the chocolate bar is good, nice design on the outer packaging, easy to open, easy to break a square of chocolate, easy to repack and store away for later. The crunch factor is there, the crisp of the rice crispies is lovely but they can get stuck in your teeth if you eat it too fast. The bad points:- The flavour is odd and the chocolate texture is awful. As there is hazelnut paste mixed in with the white chocolate, the whole thing loses its sweetness. I would say it has more of a meaty nutty flavour (like macadamia & brazil nuts) with a slight white chocolate undertone rather than white chocolate with a nutty flavour.- The aftertaste is not really an issue for me, it's more of the mouth feel it leaves behind. An odd slightly waxy feeling in your mouth, not dry but not mouth-watering either.Sorry I just don't like it

A good substitute for chocaholics trying to cut down on sugar,
This high protein white chocolate bar may have no added sugar, but you should still be aware that it has 510 calories per 100g and this is a 90g bar, so the calorie content is still significant, as you might expect with a chocolate bar. The hazelnut content comes fro the paste in the chocolate and texture is provided by the soya protein crispies liberally distributed throughout the bar. The bar has 32g of fat per 100g and 31g of carbohydrate of which 12g per 100g is sugar. The sugar substitute used is maltitol. I enjoyed the taste and liked the crunchy texture. The bar was certainly sweet enough for me but I would have wished for more of a chocolate taste. That's a big ask I know when trying to keep sugar down, but at 2.49 a bar it isn't cheap and I just felt the whole thing was more a crispy bar that white chocolate with hazelnuts. Nonetheless, if you are are trying to cut down your sugar and can't give up chocolate, this is a good substitute.
