Puella Magi Suzune Magica, Vol. 1 (Puella Magi Suzune Magica, 1) Paperback – Illustrated, September 22, 2015

This is a very interesting start to what I hope will be a good series. First off, the art is BEAUTIFUL. The art in Kazumi and Oriko was a little iffy, but this is an absolute joy to look at. Whoever this GAN is, I want to see him/her do more Madoka spinoffs. Story-wise, the concept of a magical girl hunter is very interesting. Furthermore, the story hints at a deep backstory for Suzune, which is good. In Oriko, the main character was the antagonist, but she wasn't developed well enough, so she hardly felt like the main character. Suzune fixes this problem by giving the main character/antagonist an interesting past and personality. My one criticism is that the other characters react to the main plot of the volume a little... too well. Only one of them reacts how you'd expect an actual middle school magical girl to react.

Great addition to the series, amazing story, can't wait for the next book

Only quirk i have about this subseries is some themes/reveals feel a bit rehashed if you've watched the series, that being said, it's done with new characters and with new takes

Suzune Magica is one of the many spin-offs from the insanely popular anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The spin-offs from this series have had some ups and downs. I hope that this one doesn't become one of the downs.So the title character of this series, Suzune, is a highly skilled loner magical, who is also killing regular magical girls. The conflict within the series is her interaction with another four (wo)man band of girls trying to defend themselves from her.So, the problem is obvious to anyone familiar with this series. Unless there is a massive twist coming, we all know why Suzune is doing what she does. The tension is extremely limited. I hope that the character development will make this series worth reading, but I'm not seeing a lot of signs of that yet.

Il manga è disegnato molto bene e apprezzo molto la caratterizzazione dei personaggi, ma la storia non offre nulla di nuovo al panorama Puella Magi. Lo consiglio esclusivamente ai collezionisti.
