Great Way to Extend Your Video Cables
What to do when you have a video source in one location and a monitor/TV/projector in another location? Well, you could try to run a long HDMI (or DisplayPort or other video cable) - but those are usually expensive in long lengths and hard to run through walls or other permanent installs. With this handy device, you can instead run much cheaper and easier to install Cat 6/7 "ethernet" cable and use that to move your video signal! Not only does it work just as advertised, it does it with no noticeable latency or lag making it acceptable even for runs where sounds is split off (say for a receiver) before transmission. Video quality is as good as if the display were directly connected. It's easy to use and easy to set up/tear down. While not cheap, it definitely fits the bill for a specific need and does it very well.

Just what I needed to complete my home theater setup!
This is just what I needed to complete my home theater. The signal along the 100’ network cable is steady and reliable. I’m enjoying impeccable picture quality and, as promised, zero latency so everything is in sync! This product is simple to use, and certainly gets the job done! Great product!

PoE = only one power adapter needed! Almost perfect!
First of all, the signal quality is great over my 300' of CAT5e cable going from my entertainment system in front of my room to my projector around the back (cable goes behind walls and snakes around furnishings to get where it needs to go). It is fast and responsive, and the lag seems minimal if any. I love that it can also be used as a pass through, and that it only requires power on ONE side! My old HDMI extender required a power adapter on both the tx and rx side, but this can actually send power over the network cable (PoE) so that the other side does not need its own adapter. Now THAT's awesome! This is one of the primary reasons I was interested in this, as there are two times I use such an adapter: When I use my projector instead of my TV for movies, and when moving a camera around at an event that I want to send a live feed back to a screen or streaming box for. Currently I have to supply power at both ends of the network cable, but I imagined ONLY needing power on the receiver, and having THAT power the transmitter. For example, in the case of the camera, I could have the screen receiving the signal send power to the transmitter by the camera using PoE and be somewhat more free of tethered power on that side. Also, when using the projector, I could turn on the outlet controlling the projector via remote and have it power on the transmitter behind the TV as well. Less wires and outlet spaces where already difficult / congested is good! THE PROBLEM, however, is that this thing misses its potential by only sending power from the TRANSMITTER! In other words, I can send power from the tx with PoE to the rx side, but the RECEIVER can't power the transmitter! It only goes the same direction as the HDMI signal. This, to me, was disappointing as that's the side I wanted to save from having more wires to plug in. Not the receiving side. That side is never an issue to supply power. So I was a little upset about that. But otherwise, it is a solid product that seems to do what it claims to, and so far seems more reliable than my previous setup. If it could send power using EITHER side, it would be perfect! So close this time!
