UFC: The Ultimate Fighter Season 8 - Team Mir vs. Team Nogueira [DVD]

Actually upon further review Tom Lawlor was the worst part of the entire history of the Ultimate Fighter. The only good thing he ever did in his entire career was punch a possible dwarf in a bathroom, at least it’s immortalized here on DvD for all of us to watch. Oh wait? What? DVDs are outdated now and no one has a device to play them? Well I guess the one positive contribution he made to MMA will just fade away in to the oblivion as if it never happened, and in reality most people don’t remember it, so did it truly?!The best season of TUF as far as entertainment goes for sure. Buy a copy

I got a perfect condition used TUF season 8 DVD set. Full screen. Great quality picture. This season is a must have. As well as season 1 and season 6. I highly recommend this seller. They seem to have everything and it's quality.

If you like The Ultimate Fighter then you will not be disappointed with this particular season. There were some good fights and the fighters featured on this season keep you interested. The only thing that I didn't like was the behavior of Frank Mir. I have never in all the years I've been watching TUF seen a coach so disinterested in his fighters. It was almost as though he was on the show because he loss a bet. Big Nog, however was the consummate professional. He saw the needs his team had and made it his business to show up as a coach, brother and friend.

This was a gift for my husband. I had never purchased movies off of Amazon so I did wonder how well it would be. I have to say I was very happy with everything with my purchase!

Great build up in anticipation for fights. Junie is crazy.

After watching all TUF Seasons, I can say that if you're one of those people that cares most for the drama and the things happening in the house rather than the fights, this have to be your favorite TUF season. Pranks in the house got way out of hand at some point, which included from throwing itchy powder in the beds of the other team to sabbotage their own food since the other team was stealing it, and then, lightweight Junie Browning, maybe the most infamous person in TUF history made the show around himself, by getting drunk whenever he wanted, picking fights with even the light heavyweights on the house, throwing glass to other fighters, etc.That aside, there was good talent on the show. Minotauro Nogueira was an excellent coach, taking care of his team inside and outside the cage, while Frank Mir was good but not as good as Nogueira, who acted more as a father figure to his fighters. There were good light heavyweight fighters on the show like Ryan Bader, Krzysztof Soszynski, Tom Lawlor. The lightweights had Efraín Escudero and George Roop for naming a few.

This is the only season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) not available on DVD in the UK. I don't know why; maybe copyright problems? To play back this American format DVD set, you will need:1) a multi-region DVD player2) a TV capable of NTSC playbackIt would be helpful if Amazon UK would give details of the likely duty payable on importing DVDs, etc from the USA. I didn't have to pay anything extra. If the parcel from abroad is worth under approx £20 in value, then no import duty is likely.This is my first experience of an NTSC DVD. Playback was automatic on my Pioneer DVD recorder and I did not have to adjust my TV. However, as the Americans use an inferior TV system to the UK's PAL, the definition is not as sharp and overall the picture is brighter than normal. The sound is poor too, like mono. Thirty minutes into the first episode, the disc made a very loud noise similar to a fridge and this continued ten minutes into the second episode. The second DVD suffered the same annoying sound for a while, so loud that I could barely hear the dialogue. A side effect of using a foreign disc, perhaps?This is one of the best seasons of TUF. Season 8 has plenty of drama, including a brawl at the house that could have gotten very nasty, and lots of interesting fighters. Here there is a mixture of lightweights and light heavyweights. There are a wealth of extras, including deleted scenes, fighter profiles and no annoying bleeps when anyone swears. At under £20 and five DVDs, it is excellent value for money. However, if the noise from the DVDs is a side effect of the conversion from NTSC to PAL, then I will hesitate to buy foreign discs in future.

The ultimate fighter season 8 in my opinion could be the best season ever made. Good entertainment in the house, through to great fights in the gym (octagon). Hours of extras,behind the scenes exct. A good buy from amazon, DVD came through the post within 10 days all the way from the US of A. I live in scotland and have been buying dvds from usa for five years, you do not need any special dvd player, the dvds work on any cheap (£15) dvd payer, MR Cavendish sounds like a dvd player salesman.

ライアンベイダーがとにかく安定していて強いです。しかし見どころはライト級のジュニーブローニング。こいつは最高に迷惑な奴で合宿所でもほかのメンバーとのトラブルの連続が最高に笑えます。

Just for anyone in the UK wondering - Yes it will work on your dvd player. Season 8 is an excellent season, very eventful especially within the house with numerous fights and pranks occurring. The coaches Frank Mir and Nogueria are entertaining and generally good coaches. The reason I only gave this 4 stars is I feel that the quality and originality of the fighters is fading within this season... Don't get me wrong there are some great fighters, I just feel that there were too many TUF's in a short duration, and so there aren't as many original, likeable characters - Such as Forest Griffin, Michael Bisping, Rashad Evans etc. Overall though, still a brilliant watch and a great buy for any MMA/UFC fighter.
