The Original Cool Slumber Pillow Pad with ChillGel Technology

The pillow is so noisy and crinkly when I move around on it that it wakes me up. I also find that the coolness gives me a headache. So instead, I put it under my back, where I sweat the most, for a great cooling effect. Less noise, and I sleep much better even when I turn over. The cooling lasts an hour or so for me.It also works great keeping my back cool in the car in hot weather with or without the AC on. Keeps my back from sweating, sticking to the seat and messing up my clothes. Very useful on long trips.

I now own two of these cool pads, having recently bought my second. I use it for night sweats but I have never used it on my pillow. I prefer to lay down on it. It's perfect for that as it goes from my shoulders to my hips and cools me down immediately. If I am warm, I use it to fall asleep too. It does warm to my body, but after I'm asleep. That's why I bought a second one...for the sudden onslaught of a night time hot flash. I sometimes swap between them a couple of times a night.As far as the noise others gave mentioned, I can now add, the pad softens and becomes much more pliable and quieter after just a few weeks of use. My new one was much stiffer, but it's already getting nicely worn in.

it cools for a while but then after a few hours retains heat and my husband wakes up sweaty again! he stopped using it because of this.

I used this for my baby to put inside her car seat while she was just sitting there (not driving in car) with the straps undone so that she would be cool for when we are outside. It worked well for a couple hours but then got hot. It takes a little while so that it works again, but it's worth the purchase. much much cheaper than those gel inserts for babies that are like 50$ i also lay her on it in her crib when it's super hot (we don't have air conditioning, only fans) and she sleeps a lot better with it.

It really doesn't get cool enough for me, and it's too big to put in the refrigerator. I had one that you added water to, that really kept cool, but it got tiny cracks in the cover and would leak all over the bed.

I actually ordered this for a client with heat sensitivity. She reports that it works well but warms up after a few hours of use. It sounds like it is good for someone who just needs a cool pillow to fall asleep but maybe not so great if you are looking something to keep you cold all night.

I keep this pad in my refrigerator folded in half and then in half again. I open it up and put it on my pillow under the pillow case. The cool pillow helps me to fall asleep. I bought 2 so that when I wake up in the middle of the night and the pad is not cold anymore I can replace it with the other one that is in the refrigerator. The pad has a little softness so it is not like lying on a sheet of plastic.
