Big boy that packs a punch
If you think that you're laptop charger is big, wait until you see the size of this beast. the previous generation was barely able to fit in my pocket. not with this unit. I ether have to hold it or put it in my jacket. but that's not why I bough it.The fact is that this is probably the only product of its kind that works this way. its both a charger for your phone and a 10,000 mah battery when not plugged into the wall. its the best of both worlds really. It even comes with a fast charging port that is capable of outputting up to 20w.For slower charging devices, you could always use the spare usb port, but also put the device into trickle charge mode by holding down the battery indicator button until you see one of the lights in the disk turn green. honestly not a bad feature to have.the other downside, other than the size, is the removal of a feature that you had on the previous generation. you cannot charge the battery bank without plugging it into the wall. the previous generation had a micro usb port that you could plug the device into in order to charge the battery bank. The reason why I lament this feature is that this product covers two outlets when being used. Plus the sheer weight of the unit is enough to make it fall out of the socket. If you have loose wall sockets in your house, then maybe don't plug this thing in there. If you somehow break the charging unit, then you also break the battery bank portion as well. Look, I know that this would necessitate a redesign, but I would rather have the option to charge either way so that this expensive product doesn't become a brick. At least they made this thing drop resistant. I've dropped this thing numerous times, including on pavement. The casing is brused, but not cracked. so props to the engineering department for making a durable brick.Overall, a bulky setup that works as intended, but could use a redesign in order to better resemble the previous 5,000 mah model.

All in one! No extra wires! No dead battery pack!
I got this for my daughter. She’s always taking the battery packs to keep her iPad alive. She’ll use it all up and then not charge the battery pack. She’s just like her mom! Dead battery packs laying around when I need one. Thanks you two.One thing that is nice about this is that it functions as a regular wall charger and battery pack. When it’s dead, no need to find another wire to plug into this to charge it back up. Just plug it back into the outlet. Simple. This is hers now and if the iPad dies, battery pack is dead, oh well. No excuses. Go play outside! Couldn’t make it any easier for ya.I still have a plug in battery pack from like 10 years ago. It’s still working too. Granted, it can only charge my phone half way because the phone battery has twice the capacity, but it gets the job done. I hope that my daughter can get the same use out of this one.***edit*** it’s been at least a few months now. Still working great and working hard to keep that iPad Pro 11 inch charged up. Nonstop charging and discharging. I used it a few times on a vacay to top off my iPhone, and a wireless earbuds on the low charge setting. No problems. Love that it just plugs straight into the wall socket to charge up. Still, I’ll find it completely discharged, inches from an outlet, not plugged in. Obviously, not the fault of the battery pack/charger.For those with a bum battery pack, just contact Anker. I’ve had this happen before with other big brands. Sometimes you get a lemon. They’ll replace it.
