You have to be very close to the device before your phone will see it. I set it on the highest power (which shorten's it's battery life) and the first couple of times I have lost my keys, I was almost on top of my keys before my phone saw it. It was quicker just to look for them. I have Quickset bluetooth front door lock and every time the lock is used, it sets off the beeper on the Aware device. The app tries to do too much and isn't that intuitive.It is small and does not get in the way, and if nothing else, it's acts as kind of a placebo effect knowing that if I really had a hard time finding my lost keys, then I know that at least I have this device it to help me maybe find them.

I purchased this way back when it was a Kickstarter project. I saw it demonstrated on the TV news (I lived in Silicon Valley) and thought, I really need a "dude, where's my car?" gadget/app. This sounds perfect!Not perfect. Far from perfect. A failure, in fact.No dox. The website has only the promo vid. Nothing on YouTube. Nothing in print. Really?And did I mention it's not that intuitive?I never really figured out how to make it work. I did much better finding my car by taking a photo on my cell phone of the lot identification info near where I parked it!A massive fail.Even now, the gadget thinks my car is in California when it is actually 2000 miles from Silicon Valley!There's probably some way to mark ones parking spot using Google maps. I haven't looked into that yet....yeah, I'm lost! Dude, where's my car?!Don't waste your money. Spend it on chocolate.mb
