They are filled with a mixed herbal material- I can see several colors of material mixed together, including a few white granules. The serving size is 2 capsules, so this is a 15 day supply. It is taken once a day. There was some herbal residue in my bottle, such as like happens if a capsule is opened somewhere in processing, so the capsules weren't entirely without taste. That may or may not be an issue with any particular batch/bottle.The label on the bottle has tiny print- I'm taking off a star for that- It's very tiny print that isn't particularly clear and it is hard to read. There's no child proof lid on the container - it is a standard screw off cap. The bottle does come with a safety seal in place.I can read that this contains a Vitamin B heavy formula, along with trace minerals and that there is choline and vinpocetine in the formula.SubjectiveThe material in the capsules tastes a bit sour, like Vitamin C. The capsules are easy to take, and I don't have any negative GI side effects.This works for me and I feel more alert. When I take this, it is like taking Vinpocetine. I find that particular supplement works best for me, but others that I know have not had much luck with it. It is my favorite 'brain food.' It is more affordable by itself, but this is a combination formula with other benefits as well. This formula has other things in it that are good for nerve and brain function, but the effect for me, is like Vinpocetine. I love that it has mineral supplementation too, including iodine. It seems tailored to deliver not only supplements for the brain and nerve function, but also that deliver a bit of extra energy.It does increase urination a bit - it has a LOT of b6 in it, which can cause that. I find it best to take it in the mornings.
