Govee

I have bought several govee products in the past and i bought one after having read a negative review (assuming a lack of ability by that reviewer).I was wrong, that reviewer was right. This was the most frustrating govee purchase i have made.1. Unlike other deviced that "just worked" this required me to create an account and log in to add the device. (What if govee goes bankrupt, this device then becomes useless? Sure the internet of things aspect wouldnt keep working, but surely i woul. Want to still be able to still have wifi access to it and set the timer-seems unlikely.)2. The app to setup the device is unforgiveably buggy!2.1 The wifi-password field kept clearing as i tried to type it in.2.2 once i got it setup (set the timer) i couldnt find the device listed under devices to go back to it.3. Comparitively minor complaint: Plug is a little bulbous so all the plugs had to be reareanged to fit. (in part due to the other plugs also being bulky, but the circle is purely asthetic, just make it square so it would fit easier.)I did get the timer set up, not sure if timer actually works or not-as i set it up to reboot some always-on devices while i sleep, but the first manual test worked.

This this so useful!! I'm a truck driver so I'm not home from Monday to Friday. My pregnant wife is home all alone. I have a lamp in the living room next to the window. When you turn the lamp on, you can see the light from the street. Most of times my wife goes to sleep with the TV on. During night you can see the the room lit up because of the tv. The outlet is perfect to light up the living room that way you have two lights on in the house. It makes it seem like there's more ppl in the house. I think you know where I'm going with this.

Plugs in easily. App connected to my wifi and device easily. (Make sure your phone/device is connected to your 2.4G wifi if your router constantly sends out both 2.4 and 5) Able to turn the plug on and off through the app and set up timers for it to operate on it's own based on the time and day of the week. Govee app is designed well. I recommend this purchase.

Unfortunately, this is the second time that I've bought a wi-fi-enabled outlet/light bulb that won't work with 5 GHz wi-fi. How about making models that do support it.

I Only Have My Fish Tank Lights Plugged Into Scheduling/Timing Is Very Simple!!!CONS: And, It Is ONLY About The Size of A Golf Ball!! When Plugged Into A Standard Dual Electrical Receptical, It Takes Up ONLY A "Tiny Bit" of The Electrical Outlet!!

Planning to have this product in every outlet in my house. Having power, controlled using just Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on a SINGLE device? No more remotes or light switch use necessary.Also having smart devices that you can power on/off, that can be scheduled and set-up a easier way to save on the electrical bill! Only complaint.. being that they're a little bulky, if plugging it into an outlet that's hard to get to, or a surge protector that's already loaded with other plugged in cords

Great customer service. Had trouble with the one I ordered and after several prompt chats with support walking me through the set up steps, they sent me a new one. Unfortunately just could not get set up complete on my FiOS home Wi-Fi. The 2.4 g devices can be a bit finicky some work some don't. I flipped all the settings I could on network but no luck. They were quick to refund the purchase after having sent me the second.
