Description

This leather tray is a beautiful way to commemorate a baptism, communion, or other religious event. It is hand cut, formed, dyed, and embossed with the quote by St. Francis of Assisi, "The deeds you do may be the only sermon some persons will hear today". Each tray is constructed of 8-10 oz vegetable tanned cowhide, and molded using traditional leather working techniques. The interior is hand dyed dark brown. The edges are dyed dark brown and hand burnished, while the underside is dyed carbon black and polished to a lightly pebbled finish. This unique box is perfect for organizing small items such as cell phones, wallets, keys and coins. The process used to create our leather trays is a traditional leather working technique called wet forming. This process results in a semi rigid final product. This is very similar to the process used to create holsters and saddles. Our trays are made using heavy leather by design to ensure a long lasting product. All of our trays are hand crafted individually in the USA using American cowhides. Due to the handmade nature of this product there may be slight variations in the leather surface or color.
