Second time was a charm
First one arrived damaged, bent prongs at one end. Second one arrived fine four days later. Bulb works great. The company could save themselves lots of money and the customers time if they would just take the time and pack the tubes properly. Seems to be the number one complaint.

Please pack these better for shipping.
I have used these bulbs for a long time, they work great for my 6' iggy. I found these to be a bit overpriced, but so is everything else these days. My lower rating is due to how these were packaged. They were placed in a box with absolutely no bubble wrap or paper filling to keep them from flopping around the box, not to mention no "fragile" warning or anything else. Clearly whoever packed these has never seen how these delivery folks throw packages on your doorstep. Hopefully these will last as long as my last set did, they are at least working for now.

Good product but inaccurate marketing info on this ad
I have a couple of bearded dragons and recently decided to build a 48" long terrarium that requires 48" long bulbs. I use the Reptisun 10.0 24" T-8 bulbs and decided to stay with the same bulbs but in 48" lengths. This ad indicated that the 48" 10.0 UVB bulbs are T-12 1.5" diameter 36 Watt bulbs, which seemed perfect since I couldn't find any T-8 light fixtures that were over 32 Watts. I simply purchased a T-12 40 watt max fixture. Unfortunately, after ordering this product through Amazon.com and purchasing a T-12 36 Watt 1.5" diameter light fixture what I received was a T-8 1" diameter bulb marked (on the packaging and the bulb) as a 36 Watt bulb.Clearly what I received was different than what the ad indicated. Upon further research I also concluded that there are no 36 or 40 Watt T-8 light fixture. All T-8 fixtures in the U.S. are max 32 Watts. I contacted the seller that lists this product on Amazon to inform them that their marketing on this Amazon ad is incorrect. They never responded. However, they did change the product information on this ad to indicate it is a T-8 (rather than T-12) bulb but they still incorrectly list it as a 1.5" diameter. T-8's are all 1" diameter.Because I had the T-8 bulb in hand from Amazon I returned my T-12 light fixture to the store and purchased a more expensive T-8 fixture labeled as a 32 Watt fixture. The bulb seemed to work fine. I then went to Petsmart and purchased a 2nd T-8 UVB 5.0 bulb that was labeled as a 40 Watt bulb. This also appeared to have incorrect wattage labeling.I then contacted Reptisun directly and they told me that some of their packaging for bulbs sold in the U.S. incorrectly lists the wattage for the T-8 bulbs according to the European standard of 36 Watts but that the bulbs should be correctly marked as 32 Watts. This actually isn't correct either since the 48" bulb I purchased through Amazon is marked as 36 Watt on the bulb and the other that I bought through Petsmart is incorrectly marked as a 40 Watt bulb. Again, based on my research all T-8 bulbs in the U.S. should have a maximum wattage of 32 Watts. Reptisun told me that if the bulb says it is a 40 watt then it should still work in my 32 Watt lamp. That sounds kind of fishy to me but I'm giving it a shot anyway.Clearly Reptisun has some serious issues with their product packaging throughout the U.S. that is not simply limited to a single vendor.I have given this ad a poor rating not because of the product's performance but simply because the ad itself provides misleading and incorrect information and also because the product is packaged and labeled incorrectly. Also, the seller hasn't contacted me to resolve the issue which is frustrating me.

Great UVB bulbs for you Scaley Friends!
These are the only bulbs I use for my reptiles, they seem to last the longest and not flicker all the time like some of fluorescent bulbs due. My reptiles have all done great on these bulbs and I haven't had any trouble with them. Besides, if you get your reptile out to get sun 20 minutes once a week they get 10 times the amount of UV that any of these bulbs give out. But I still like to have lights over everybody and I've never had a problem with these. No eye problems in any of my reptiles (I have 38 reptiles, 20 are brand new baby panther chameleons). I have not had MBD issues with any of my reptiles and while I know Zoo med is kind of in competition with Exo terra (which is also a very good company) I am hesitant to change bulbs because these have worked so well for me for so long.

Bad Handling
These bulbs are great but order's were damaged before shipment packing. They do try to make it better by replacing the first order, then refund money when that order is damaged.

Essential for our water dragon!
I have read conflicting information about fluorescent bulbs as a reliable UV source. We are advised to change such bulbs every 6 months, despite them still emitting visible light. TWICE now, I have failed to swap bulbs right at six months and a couple months later, our dragon has grown sluggish and "off". Once, upon replacing with the ZooMed fluoro, he perked back up. The second time, I replaced with a compact fluoro UV (supposedly a better source), and he did NOT rebound. At 8 months, I replaced the ZooMed fluoro and AGAIN, he regained energy and color. I HAVE to think that, despite what many say, that this fluorescent bulb IS an excellent source of UV for our water dragon, so long as we change for a new one every six months. I cannot recommend this one enough !

Fine light, if you can get an undamaged one
Initially ordered two. When they came I was surprised that they were loose in a rather large box. They were lightly padded but one of the lights had damaged connectors. The exchange process was painless and I indicated the padding wasn't sufficient and the box was too big.Well, my replacement came today. It came in the same box (so several times larger than the light) with NO padding, bubble wrap or anything. The box the light is packaged in is open on one end and the connector on the exposed end is damaged. Again.I can't get these lights locally so I am hoping my third attempt comes undamaged.
