Good quality product, but note the higher 500 mg dosage! It is usually sold in 100 mg capsules, so unless you have certain infections, you won't need the higher amount. In Stephen Buhner's book "Herbal Antibiotics", page 149 he states "...Lyme disease caution: Artemisinin is extremely safe when used appropriately; that is in doses around 1200 mg daily, for seven days. If it is used long term in high doses there is significant risk of neurotoxicity..." The dose for Babesia, according to Buhner's "Healing Lyme" book, p.180 is 100 mg/ 3x's daily for 30-40 days. The dosage for Lyme is 300-500 mg daily for 30-40 days.I opted for the higher dose in one capsule, since I am taking multiple herbs/detox tablets and it made it easier in my Lyme/Bartonella battle. According to Buhner, the dosage for Malaria is 500-1000 mg the first day, then 500 mg daily for four more days (p184 Healing Lyme). You may experience a herx reaction at higher doses, so keep up with detox support when taking this. Artemisinin is effective for clearing fevers, protozoan infections, toxoplasma gondii, some types of liver flukes, nail fungus and of course, Malaria. An excellent product, from a reputable company! Just remember to watch your dose and know what you're using it for.

In reading other reviews, I see that people take Artecin for a variety of reasons. In my own case, I have taken it, along with olive leaf extract for preventing malaria on trips to Africa, and in the last three years, for keeping Lyme disease and co-infections (Babesia, Bartonella and Ehrlichia) under control. For that second purpose, I will likely take Artecin daily for the rest of my life.Taking Artecin, along with several other supplements, has brought me the greatest improvements in symptoms over the last nearly three years that I have seen in the approximately 25 years that I have had Lyme disease and its co-infections. The improvements in symptoms number about ten, and included within that was an improvement in blood sugar stability (versus hypoglycemia). This allowed me, with diet and exercise, to lose 50 pounds from mid-February to Christmas day in 2012.

Excellent product. Purchased a while back for my moms cancer and she is now in remission. Do your research and use it with pharma treatment. Purchased again as it is a good antiviral for upset stomach, fever and nausea.
