Makes a delicious light and crisp waffle
We used this M003 plate for the first time today and I wanted to share a photo for those still deciding. This was maybe the best waffle I've ever had. So light and crisp. I can't believe a waffle maker can use the same old recipe we've always used and make the waffle taste so much better. When deciding on the M003, I was hoping for old school classic, like what I grew up with. This is not quite that imo, but I'm still glad we got it. This plate makes a more delicate waffle. I think I will prefer this waffle with a little powdered sugar, though my son had his with syrup. Too much syrup would ruin the texture experience.

No customer service after waffle iron stopt working.
Plate is great. However, did not get ANY response once the waffle iron stopt working! Terrible customer service. Iron was still in warranty, but no way of getting in contact with this company. Phone number is disconnected and no response on emails.

Makes American-style waffles from my childhood
I grew up on waffles made on a Toastmaster waffle iron, which you can no longer buy. The waffles I make are eggy and crisp.I can't stand Belgium waffles; the texture is always a disappointment. (PS. my recipe is in the old instructions:Toastmaster 244S Waffle Iron User Manual [...]I wanted to buy the Croquade waffle maker, but I distrusted the waffle plate that they called "American." I was right!THIS is the waffle plate (M003) that accurately reproduces the waffles that I grew up with.And if you want to expand your horizons, you can use the other plates that come with the Croquade.

Nostalgia
This is the plate to get if you want waffles like your mother used to make. My mother had a GE waffle iron that made waffles about 2/3 as thick as Belgium waffles. Her batter went further, and since we got more waffles per batch, we got a chance to enjoy more butter and syrup.

Read carefully before buying
Never having owned a waffle maker before, I ordered this not knowing that it was only the plates for the rather pricey Croquade waffle maker that runs $159.00. If you order this item, do be aware it's only the plates, not the waffle maker.
