Product Description Slammin’ Cleon Salmon, the former Heavyweight Champion of the world, is a mean, crazy, and sometimes infantile bull of a man, who happens to owe $20,000 to the head of the Japanese Yakuza and needs to come up with the money tonight. So he challenges the waiters in the restaurant that he owns, The Slammin’ Salmon, a high end, boxing themed seafood eatery in Miami, to sell more food than they’ve ever sold in their lives, with the top waiter earning $10,000, the loser getting a broken rib sandwich. As the hours pass, the action becomes more chaotic as Cleon shows up to supervise the contest and changes the rules on a minute to minute basis. .com The Broken Lizard gang is back with The Slammin' Salmon, a rowdy comedy that spends a night in a restaurant of the same name. Boxer Cleon Salmon (Michael Clarke Duncan, 1999 Academy Award nominee for The Green Mile) owns the swanky eatery and needs to raise fast cash to settle a gambling debt. He challenges his hapless crew to a contest to see who can up-sell the most in order to reach his goal of $20,000 before closing time. Director Kevin Heffernan sets a rapid-fire pace loaded with pratfalls, spit takes, food fights, and bathroom humor. The Slammin' Salmon brings together the usual Broken Lizard (Club Dread, Supertroopers, and Beerfest) regulars: Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske, Steve Lemme, Jay Chandrasekhar, and Heffernan (as the jittery manager). Cobie Smulders and April Bowlby round out the cast as frenzied waiters who'll do anything to avoid a "broken-rib sandwich" from the intimidating Salmon. Saturday Night Live's Will Forte plays a table-hogging, water-sipping lone diner who leaves a surprise tip. Vivica A. Fox and Morgan Fairchild make awkward cameos. The one-liners and sight gags can wear thin after an hour, but die-hard Broken Lizard film fans know what they're in for when they watch a Heffernan romp, and The Slammin' Salmon won't disappoint. --Francine RuleyStills from The Slammin' Salmon (Click for larger image)

Another Lizard that crawls into your funnybone.get it
I came across this film by accident years ago,but I only just picked it up because I remembered it vaguely, but ANY Broken Lizard creation is always guaranteed laughs. This film takes place in a restaurant, and if you, like me have worked in restaurants & I'm in the kitchen you already know some of the antics here are rather...real,to an extent. Remember Waiting & Still Waiting ? They hit the restaurant biz on the head spot on. But this is just insane,Michael Clark Duncan plays the owner of the restaurant, and. He is a former heavyweight champ, who makes a lot of mistakes with pronunciations & he hates being corrected ! Maybe 1 too many blows to the head ? Anyways, the restaurants insane, lots of cutthroat attitude to win the bonus.the plot is that Duncan (Salmon) has a seafood fine dining restaurant & he is indebted to a Yakuza boss for what was stated as 20,000 $$ but later they find out it's yen...so things aren't all that bad. They have a live swordfish that Salmon knocks out ...thats fresh fish ! But so much craziness happens thru the course of the night. Jay Chandersekar plays a crazy waiter who has psychotic breaks when he misses his dose of medication, and it happens to be the 1 night the restaurant is on the line. But it also happens to be daylight savings time & he misses his dose,so he starts hallucinating heavily & it's hilarious.the females are competing with the rest of the staff to get the bonus promised to the waiter who can pull in the most $$. A celeb comes back to the restaurant & wants to purpose to his girlfriend,so he gives Heffernan a diamond to put in a brownie. It just happens to get ingested by him,so needless to say...he needs to retrieve it,,by force ! It's a $450,000 ring & the guy wants to purpose to a chick (played by Olivia Munn) and the guy realized that Heffernan had to deal it out,so when she eats it outta the brownie he wants to get sick, cuz he knows where it just was. A girl gets scalded with wicked hot soup, who is an aspiring ballerina. The 1 dude plays a double part,I forget his name, but if you ever saw Super Troopers he's the guy who falls for the blonde girl on Spurberry police dept. He pulls of a double part off well.these guys really put alotta effort into this film.its a nice, twisted restaurant comedy. I can't say much more without totally ruining the whole story. So if you dig any Lizard film then you will love this 1 equally as much. I think this is better than Beerfest, maybe it's cuz I've seen Beer fest 100x . Alotta people say that the Club Dread movie was weak, but I dug it. Super Trooper is always #1 & this is tied with Club Dread. Every single person in that film seemed to pull their role off well,Cobie Smulders plays another waitress in here which is cool, she plays her part well. Anyeays, trust me,just watch the film.its ehond funny.

Nobody has heard of this movie!!
I stumbled across this movie on accident while it was offered on Prime Video. This movie is freakin hilarious and nobody seems to know about it.A former boxer turned restaurant owner makes bad bets and manager offers major prize to the staff member who sells the most. Hilarity ensues. The Broken Lizard crew does not disappoint.

Another Great Broken Lizard Experience
Although nowhere as awesome as Super Troopers or Beerfest (Unrated Widescreen Edition) , The Slammin' Salmon is much better than Puddle Cruiser , Club Dread (Unrated Extended Edition) or The Dukes of Hazzard (Unrated Full Screen Edition) . As Broken Lizard specializes in what are known as "late night comedies," this film will only appeal to a niche audience, but for those that love their previous works, you'll be happy to know that this contains clever schemes, crazy capers, wacky hijinx and just a bit of gross-out comedy.Michael Clarke Duncan steals the show as Cleon "Slammin'" Salmon, the ex boxing heavyweight champion of the world. Not completely insane, he has opened a seafood restaurant named after him. The character of Salmon is hilarious, demented and really makes the movie. The only other "name" actor with a large part is Cobie Smulders aka "Robin Sparkles/Scherbatsky" from How I Met Your Mother: Seasons 1-4 , but Vivica A. Fox, Morgan Fairchild and Lance Henriksen all have cameos. The core cast is of course the Broken Lizard Troupe and they all do a great job. Kevin Heffernan plays the manager of The Slammin' Salmon, and he's surprisingly subdued in this role. If you're expecting Farva or Landfill, you'll be a bit disappointed here. Jay Chandrasekhar plays "nuts" and its his weirdest role yet. Sadly it's not as beliveable as his other characters that he's played over the years. Paul Soter has a double role in the film as two obnoxious twin brothers, but it's Erik Stolhanske and Steve Lemme who actually make the movie for me as these two always play just a wide array of characters. Steve is Conner, a waiter returning to the Salmon after a failed acting career and Erik plays Guy who is the resident sleazy staff member. In all, I really enjoyed the film and found it to be a keeper. Again, I realize that like most Broken Lizard films, this is only going to appeal to a cult audience, but its definitely worth watching several times just for the sheer weirdness of it all.

Broken Lizard Serves another HOT Comedy
Hands down my favorite movie that these guys have made. I am a chef so I have worked in many kitchens, and they really cracked it! I found the premise extremely funny and loved the performances in this film. Michael Clarke Duncan definitely adds heaps of humor with his role as the retired boxer turned restaurant owner who is way too abusive! I highly recommend watching this. It made me hungry for more!

One of their better ones
As far as the limitations of a comedy by the Broken Lizard group go this is pretty good.I didn't warm to it immediately - initially i felt ready for dissapointment - i cant quite put my finger on it, but I often feel like this with all of their films. It sounds stupid saying this with the films being so silly, but I tend to enjoy Broken Lizards films more once the plot actually starts to develop. After all without the plots it is just a bunch of stupid slapstick jokes....I suppose that is what I am fearing - that it is just going to be an hour and a half of aimless jokes.Fortunately this film does have a plot - as bizzare as it is! I have no idea how someone can make up a whole film from this odd concept.Anyway - the film delivers the usual oddball characters we have seen before - and similar gross out jokes, but it never seems tired or overworked coz these guys appear to have so much fun in the production of it - it makes it hard to not laugh at their over the top tomfoolery. As with most of their films - best enjoyed with alcohol and firends!

Great addition to the Broken Lizard collection
iIt has some great laughs throughout it. The other cast out-with the Lizard crew are great. Other will say it isnt as good as Supertroopers or beerfest however it stands strongly on its own. Go on, look at the price. What have you spent that money on before!

Enjoyable
Exactly what I expected from Broken Lizard. Rudely funny. Possibly not as good as Super-Troopers but definately close. A good, no brains, comedy that would be perfect with some mates and beers!
