Bit of a problem with the design
Personally, I really like this product. It bubbles with no noise and is a nice, neutral beige color. However, it's been hooked up for about an hour and I have found that the bubbling piece itself doesn't leave enough room for our cats to stick their head in and drink without getting splashed. I turned down the height of the water that bubbles up, and even though the bowl looks like it's plenty big enough, there just isn't quite enough space. Our cats are sitting around staring at it right now, so we'll see how long it takes them to accept the fountain.......or not..UPDATE: Our cats starting using it quickly with no problems on their part. The pump rubber "feet" kept vibrating off, but a dab of glue has them holding steady now. It's also a bit touchy and needs to be primed or blown out to rid air blocks each time the bowl is drained and cleaned.YET ANOTHER UPDATE: After using this system for 3 months, it's still working, but we've learned that the pump needs to have the bottom cleaned of excess yuck regularly or it clogs and strains to work. The whole system is kind of a pain to clean, so I would probably think twice before purchasing again.

I received the package exactly as stated, packaged well and works great
This is a nice item for my cats. It did take a while for my fourteen year old cat to get used to the bubbling water, so I started without the bubbles and eventually started it and let him get used to it. I love the stream as you can change how high you want it to go. You can turn it down if you don't like how it splashes a bit on the floor. You have to clean it often to keep it from clogging. Plus you don't want your animals getting sick. the only part I don't like is how hard it is to clean out the jug. I use HOT hot water and lots of soap to soak it and shake it and do over until I am sure there is no soap in the jug. I eventually get some slime out if it happens to go long enough to get slimy. Once I am sure all the parts are thoroughly washed, including that little box that is int he water and pumps the water through, then it will work. You want that clean because it won't pump it if it is clogged with slime. Works great. I was worried it wouldn't. very happy with it. though I would love another way to get that jug clean. Not sure, larger screw top to be able to reach in and scrub would work. Definitely happy.

Works well - if you clean it regularly!
Bought this for my new cat to try and get him to drink more water and heard that cats will drink more from fountains than bowls. And it seems to do the trick! As long as you clean it regularly, it keeps the water flowing. Adjusting the flow is really nice because it let me play around until I found the right balance - too high and it actually sprays outside the bowl a bit, too low and my cat doesn't seem to notice it. My only wish is that you could purchase replacement parts - my cat stole the "cap" to the bottle and I can't find it or a replacement. Seems to work well without it, but is certainly messier when you replace the refilled bottle without it!

Messy, messy, messy.
This is the second fountain my wife I have tried in an attempt to get our cats to drink more water. The last one we had, which was more expensive, broke after a few months of use. We took a gamble on one more, though the last one didn't much interest them. It arrived quickly with minimal assembly required. It took only a few minutes to figure out and piece together. Putting water into the container is very easy and mess free. The cap on the water tank is designed well to prevent a mess. Unfortunately the fountain itself spews water out of the bowl and on to the floor. Within an hour of running you may need a mop. Additionally the cats were disinterested in drinking, though two of them had fun pawing in the water for the first couple of days. The material is all plastic, excepting parts for the internal pump, and should outlast the pump itself.Bottom line: It's called a bubbler; a more appropriate name would be a spewing mess. Skip this purchase.

I like it BUT.....
I purchased this product 3 months ago.. my cats didn't like it at first and now they bat the water around.. kind of amusing actually. The problem I have is the pump went out. I left it on all the time. I mean, what good is it doing if you cant leave it run? My cats sit next to it and look at me like " mommy aren't you going to turn it on"? they actually look depressed they cant play in it..I just looked up the pumps to reorder and they are $20.00 each.. They are little pumps.. if I have to replace the pumps every 3 months I might as well just let my tap water run for them...Going to contact someone to see if anything can be done. I think I paid like $30 something for this thing.. It wasn't cheap but if I would have known it was only going to last this long I would have bought a bigger and a little nicer one...

Good Product
I had a previous fountain I was using that had a fish that shot water out it's mouth, but it was extremely loud. It sounded like a river in my kitchen. I don't mind a little babbling brook sound, but it was a raging river sound. I wanted a fountain that did not have a filter (I stopped using the filter on the other fountain because the filter impeded the flow after a few days). I change the water at least every 2 days & I use filtered water, so the filter was not an important issue for me. This fountain is very quite. The motor is quite & the water flowing makes very little water sound even turned up to the max. My cat does not seem to like it as much initially, but he seems to be adapting to it. It is a different type of water flow, bubbling up instead of shooting out. It was very easy to put together. It seems to be durable with no small parts that can easily break. I continue to change the water at least every other day, but that is personal preference as the bottle is large enough that it could last at least a week or longer depending on the number & size of the pets drinking from it. It works for me & was reasonably priced.
