Growing up in a German household in America, we had many of these recipes. There is a good mix of easy to more difficult and everything from bread to soup to main dishes and desserts. A must read! I’m excited to try some of these out.

I am French, curious and I love cooking so no wonder why I am reading all these recipe books! This one attracted me in particular because I love German breads and I could not be happier when I found this recipe for pumpernickel from Westphalia! I made a few variations of it, and I have to do this one! Same same with the Spaetzle, Black Forest cake (Lecker!), Strudel, German goulash, etc. Oh, I make my one sausages too, and if you are interested in making yours too, well, give this book a try, just for the bratwurst recipe and the curry Bratwurst!!!! Recipes are easy to follow, and include basics ingredients you will find in any supermarket. Pictures and presentation in general are attractive, it is a great book to have at a more than decent price! For all amateurs of salty and sweety German dishes and food lovers in general!

I looked at the preview and really liked the inside pictures because they were in color (which is always good when making foreign cuisine). However, when it came, only the front and back covers had colored the pictures. All of the pictures inside were black/white monochrome.Yes, the recipes are still usable, but I really enjoy book with colored pictures.Slightly disappointed.

If you love German food and /or want to learn how to make it this is an excellent recipe book. Lot's of a variety of recipes that are authentic. Highly recommend for yourself or as a gift. Arrived very quickly also.

The recipes are kept simple and not over the top fancy which is great. I didnt need to go buy fancy or hard to find ingredients i had most at home or local grocery store. All the recipes looked delicious and well written instructions. Good cook book. Probably better around Christmas time because of all the wonderful desserts in this book.

just read through this wonderful book. I have celiac disease but I’ll be making most of these recipes and adding xanthan gum to my GF flours. Yes, I recommend this recipe book.

Die Rezepte mögen gut sein, aber schwarz weiß Bilder in einem Kochbuch sind, mir fällt keine bessere Beschreibung ein... unappetitlich!Und die Bilder sehen aus als wären sie aus einem Kopierer gekommen, kein Wunder das ich es nicht zurück schicken musste!Also das solltet ihr nochmal überarbeiten, aber ich bekam mein Geld zurück.

Ich werde das Buch zurück schicken. Die Schwarz-weiss Fotos sehen aus wie schlechte Fotokopien. Ich wollte es verschenken, was aber in dieser Quaität nicht möglich ist.

Very good. Thorough, clear, detailed, covers many common German dishes.
