Just as good as the Roku 3 (without all the shenanigans).
Why would I need a Roku 3? I don't care about games. I don't care about voice search (and if I decide to, there's an app). I don't need to listen through headphones via the remote. With the Roku 2 being the same performance...the same guts in the box as the Roku 3, this was an easy $30 to save!

One Of The Best Things To Have If You Don't Have A Smart TV.
Bought this for my mom for Christmas, mostly because she does not have a smart tv, and operating a dvd or Blu-ray player is way beyond her comprehension. I set it up at my place prior to giving it to her. I absolutely hate having to enter a credit card to set this up, but I have had the Roku 3 for quite a while, and nothing has ever been charged to my account. The main reason I got this for her is because it supports a USB stick, and if you put movies on one in MP4 format, they play perfectly using the Roku media player you download from list of channels provided. I was able to put 7 movies on one 16 GB stick for her. (Highly compressed, but surprisingly good quality). She loves it.My only rough experiences with my own Roku is sometimes it freezes up, so it has to be unplugged and plugged back in. Also my USB port on mine is a tight fit. They go in perfect on hers. The refurbished price is great and it came in well packaged and worked exactly as expected.

Waited too long for this!
For years I suffered the headache that was watching Netflix and Amazon on my PS3. Everything that could go wrong with a streamed signal seemed to. I could never count on it working. So I finally broke down and bought a media player and I couldn't be happier with my choice of the Roku 2. I wanted a box that had both ethernet and and IR receiver - options that seem to be exclusive of one another in most cases as boxes adopt bluetooth and rf remotes and only higher end boxes include ethernet. So far, the picture and sound of Netflix and Amazon thru the Roku 2 are top quality. I am also impressed by how fast and responsive the box is. I couldn't be happier thus far. Also, it was easy to set up.

Static issues make this unusable
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This player started having static issues a few days back. Big static blocks appeared on the screen. I tried different HDMI cables and sockets and the same problem occurs only with this device. So after less than 8 months after buying it this box is unusable. I didn't use it much, just to watch a few episodes of different shows as far as I remember. I did have one other family member potentially binge watch on it a few times, but a few days in the past few months as far as I know.I also used it to look at pictures. Picture quality could have been better. High definition pictures looked a bit more blurred out and compressed on this Roku. That's a big problem for me because I wanted to use this instead of my PC for image illustration reference. On my PC the same image files look good and original like they should. If Roku makes a device where I can look at images uncompressed like on my PC then I'd like to get that.Twitch is no longer supported for Roku which didn't bother me too much. I'm so used to using Twitch on a desktop PC that trying to use it on a box seems like extra, unnecessary work. The chat feature and keyboard use on a PC for Twitch are reliable. On this Roku there was no chat feature. I would have liked to have been able to use Twitch because I don't like having my computer on a lot, the electricity can add up noticeably. Twitch also had lower quality compression on this box compared to my PC.Netflix streaming quality was good.I've included a video of the static problem. Different colored pixels appear all over the screen too.

when I purchased this Roku there was a number to ...
when I purchased this Roku there was a number to call to set it up and I had to pay $69.00 to set it up,. that number is no longer in service .....My first encounter with a problem was on 3/24/2018 in the middle of the night it stopped working. tried the number did not work so I tried to trouble shoot on the settings it told me to go on line and put in a code that it gave me. Well I tried that but could not find the place to put the code. there was an on line help, I clicked on that and the Tec came on and said he would put the code in.....Well he did not but while on line with him he said I had all this infection and wanted money to fix. I did not let him and told him I was not paying any money to him so he said the roku would not work. Now I paid $39.00 to purchase and then to activate it I paid another $69.00. I can not believe amazon would sell such a product.. Bottom line I NO LONGER HAVE THE USE OF THE ROKU IT DOES NOT WORK.. I HAVE NOW HAD IT TOO LONG TO SEND IT BACK. I believe that Amazon should be alerted about this issue with this product and no longer deal with them to sell there scam product BEWARE..OF ROKU BOUGHT ON LINE.

Excellent Roku streamer!
this factory refurb'ed Roku2 4210B worked flawlessly right out of the box ... I've got it connected with a CAT5 cable to my network switch (a more desirable and reliable hookup than wireless) and so far the very rare network glitches are brief and the unit recovers easily and quickly ... with the channels that come with the unit and the subscription-based Hulu, there's so much excellent content available, including some prized BBC series, all the X-Files and many more ... this refurb'ed unit also represents a significant savings

Ethernet connection, Fast streaming, Worth the Money!
These devices are exceptionally nice. Yes they are refurbished but for the most part they work really well. I needed a streaming player in a location remote from the wifi router and chose this one because it had an ethernet connection. Right out of the box it looked new and has performed flawlessly. Much faster than our old roku HD. It worked so well that I bought another one. The second one did not work at all, but that was not the fault of the device itself but the power supply. People automatically assume that the power supply will work and I'm sure that the refurbisher made the same assumption. and did not test the power supply. I returned the one with the bad power supply and re-ordered. The third one has performed as well as the first one. Should the need arrise, I would not hesitate to order another one.
