Tried + tested on Caribbean vacation
First let me start by saying I have an inflammatory condition so I needed a sunscreen that didnโt contribute to making my symptoms worse like many of the other sunscreens with harsh chemicals. This sunscreen is phenomenal! We just got back from a week in the Caribbean sun in Antigua/Barbuda, and I did not burn once! But there are some key things you must know before buying so that you can apply it properly and get the best protection. First, you must shake the can for about 20 seconds before each use. This way it mixes the sunscreen and applies it correctly. If you spray it and it comes out clear you have not shaken it up enough. It should spray solid white. Second, rub it in quickly after you spray it because it dries fast. Note that this does leave a white cast, but itโs not as bad as everyone says. I have light olive skin (half Hispanic, half white) and I tan easily but I also burn easily. When I applied it, it went on white but I just took the time and rub it in really well. The white cast will fade a little once it dries but it will also sit on top of the skin which is helpful to know when you need to re-apply. I applied in the morning about 20 min before getting in the sun. *Apply before putting on your swim suit! If it gets on your swimwear, it will leave white marks*. The sunscreen stayed on through pool and ocean use without rubbing off. I only needed to reapply on the tops of my shoulders once in the afternoon. Also, this is not to say that you wonโt burn. While I was in the intense sun, I also spent time in the shade throughout the day just to make sure I was giving my skin breaks from the heat. But for being in the sun like I was, I am VERY impressed with this sunscreen. And for it only being spf 30, it protected me better than expected in the harsh Caribbean sun. I usually come home from vacations with a little burn but absolutely none this time! Just be sure to take time to apply it correctly and you should be good! Iโd rather have a slight, minimal white cast than be burnt and miserable. Itโs worth it! Iโll be using this stuff from now on.

Good product
Purchased for snorkeling and beach. I researched and this product ticked off all of the boxes for us as far as reef safe, skin safety, ingredients. Help keep the sunburn away!

I am super white and have great skin which is super surprising ...
I just started using this product and I wanted to write because I thought some of the reviews were mixed when I read them. I used to use Zinka's spray but they changed their formula and now it is a greasy mess, that never dries do not buy that, I wrote the company and they do not care. First and foremost this bottle is heavy so I am not sure if the shaker ball is heavy or what but a 6oz bottle should not be this heavy so that might be a marketing ploy, hope I don't run out and just have a shaker ball. I am super white and have great skin which is super surprising as my childcare was being dumped off at the local pool in TX without sunscreen during the summers, but I attribute that to using a zinc based sunscreen for the past 10-15 years. I use this everyday, rain or shine as I live in TX and it never rains long and winter here has sunshine too. I use it on my face, hands and decolletage. Yes, my face, under my make up or not. Here are the issues, this makes a super white paste that does not fade into the skin if you go too heavy. So you have to rub it in and even then there is a whiteness, and I am already a white gal. I too am longing for a day of clear zinc sunscreen. But none on the market I have found that are not an oily mess that cause breakouts. I like the dry texture of this spray, and if I spray a thin layer I do not need to rub, so that is perfect for me on my face as most make up I put over it has spf protection anyways, so no problem there, and this stuff stays on 12 hours or more. I think the cost is high, I used to pay around $10 a bottle for zinka but it was not as heavy as this so I will see how long this lasts. But so far except for the cost and the having to rub it in I really like this product.

My favorite sunscreen
I love this sunscreen and have been carrying a can in my bag all this summer. To address a couple of common complaints: โItโs not sheer at allโ: โSheerโ does not mean the same thing as โclear,โ people. This spray is white and absolutely does rub in to be sheer as advertised. It leaves a slight (โsheerโ) white tinge after rubbing in, but itโs not super noticeable on my pale skin. It might be more problematic on darker skin tones. (Also, it should be noted that there is literally no such thing as clear mineral sunscreen- you will have to choose between a product like this and a clear one containing endocrine disruptors. Iโd rather look a little pasty, personally.) โMy whole family used this and got burnedโ: You need to shake the can before spraying, as per the instructions. These sprays are made of zinc (the active, protective ingredient) in a liquid suspension. If you spray without shaking the can first, you risk getting all liquid and no zinc particles, and then yes, you will burn. Iโm pretty sensitive and this sunscreen has not failed me yet. โItโs hard to get offโ: This is true. It is hard to get off. But why would you want a sunscreen to come off easily?? This stuff is water resistant to an impressive degree. In the evening if it takes a vigorous scrubbing to get it off, I consider the exfoliation a bonus. Also, my nozzles have worked just fine and the cans last me quite a good amount of time.

It really is water resistant
This stuff is great. Normally when buying a green sunscreen, I have to sacrifice the aerosol feature and default to a lotion. This has a very neutral scent and sprays easily and evenly. It is zinc-based, so it will leave a white haze on your skin. I did need to rub it in after spraying, which helped minimize the white hue. It does love bathing suits, so be prepared to also rub the zinc powder into your bathing suit, otherwise it will be spray painted white. I used this while tubing and did not get burned--just nice and toasty-tan. The biggest downside is that it has a very slight stickiness/tackiness to it. I showered twice before I finally felt like it was all off my skin. But at least it didn't come off in the river!

Leaves skin WHITE and chalky!
This sunscreen is the worst. it leaves your skin feeling chalky, and totally white. it is difficult to get it off. I accidentally bought it twice two years apart thinking it was the one I liked, but nope. floated the river and even trying to rub it off in the water wouldn't remove the white cast on my skin all day. If you don't mind chalky skin and looking white, then go for it.

Better options out there for us
I was buying only this sunscreen for my daughter. She struggles with eczema and really sensitive skin. I thought since it was so natural and specified sensitive skin it was the way to go. It did a good job protecting her from the sun but it would dry her out so bad. Worse than anything sheโs ever used. Itโs a little greasy and I found that do have to rub it in so it defeats the spray option. It will also leave you noticeably white if you donโt really rub it in.

Great convenient nontoxic spray sunblock option that really works!
I am very serious about nontoxic products for my family, particularly for my young children. I also insist on sunscreen almost every day. The unfortunate thing is that I really dislike actually applying sunscreen! lol! I don't mind on normal mornings (and we usually use the Green Screen Organic Sunscreen SPF 32 Original - Vegan - Gluten-free or Babo Botanicals SPF 40 Daily Sheer Facial Sunscreen, Unscented), but when we are on the go or at the beach, I wanted to make it as easy as possible to apply. We bought this for a beach getaway over the summer and it really surprised me. It is an easy application (shake, spray, rub) and it really worked. Two children and two adults used this on the entire body and face along with some extra stick protection on the face. I reapplied a few times, but not religiously and no one got a burn... no one really even got a tan. It says that it is sweat and water proof up until a certain point and I believe it really is because we were in scorching heat on the beach (in the water too) and no one had any issues. The great thing is that it really did make application easy so I think we reapplied more appropriately than we would have with a regular tube of sublock. I am not experienced with spray sunblocks so I cannot compare with others, but I believe it is similar. Note, since this is a nontoxic sublock that is zinc based, it does go on white and also sprays whatever it gets on white, but I didn't have any problems. It rubs in very easily and seemed to come off of carpet, clothes, etc. very easily as well. This is now a regular go-to for us even on non-beach days.

Lightweight sun protection
The sunscreen is nice in that it doesn't leave a sticky layer on your skin like many other brands. I also like how it uses more natural ingredients rather than synthetic chemicals, although I wouldn't consider it completely reefsafe either. Just be aware to shake it really well before spraying or it'll just be water that comes out. The texture should be a thin foam. The downside is that it is hard to scrub off the tiny grooves in your skin. Be sure to thoroughly wash it off or you'll be stuck with tiny white lines around your joint areas. The sunscreen also has a sheer cast, so it will turn your skin whiter and reflective, as do most physical sunscreens. This personally doesn't matter to me, but opt for a chemical sunscreen if you don't like that.

Doesn't absorb....
I had high hopes for this product - finally something you could spray on and that was safe for kids.....Sounds like a great product. The problem is that it doesn't absorb well and it's not as thought you can simply rub it into the skin. My kids wont let me put this on them because they go to school painted white. Would advice against this purchase. A waste of my money... :-((

Light, odorless
Pros: doesnt smell like you're wearing sunscreen, all natural, not oily/sticky. Cons: for dark skinned people it sometimes didn't blend entirely so I looked ashy but not always. All in all would recommend

Did not last long
This product worked well. It sprayed well and spread easily. No scent. No streaking. However I found it did not last very long. Maybe 6 applications and the can was empty.

Requires you to rub it in, but fantastic coverage, light weight, chemical free
I have tried many many Zinc based sunscreens - this one is great Pros: - continuous spray works well - lasts a LONG time - water resistance seems to be fantastic (in hot summer day, playing in water all day, toddler looks great) - allows a tan even for fairer skin, and no burn cons: - as others had mentioned, it does spray on more like a lotion than a spray which means you need to rub it in. i spray it on my toddlers arms, and then rub it in...you'd never know it was there, takes but a moment. reviews that say people are painted white - seemingly do not have a moment to rub it in.
