The mat is thick and high. More for commercial use than for house kitchen.

I bought this because I'm lucky enough to have a standing desk at work, but my feet often get tired in the high heels I wear, and I really wanted a clean, cushioned surface that I could rest my feet on. Yes, I take my shoes off at work and use this barefoot, and it's a wonderful experience; like standing on a cloud of comfort. I have to stand because I have a hip/lower back issue, and this really helps distribute my weight so my back doesn't hurt and my feet don't get tired. I also had to carry it 6 blocks from my bus stop into the office and while I'm a small woman (5 feet even) I had no problem juggling it along with my work bag and water bottle. I've only had it a few days, so I can't really vouch for durability; but since I don't plan to put shoes, a chair, or children on it, I think it will last a long time. Also, I think the seller guarantees it for my lifetime or something, so that's cool. Highly recommend!

I have always had a bad back so when I saw this product, I was hopeful it would relieve pain while in the kitchen. Prepping food and washing dishes is not easy on a hard floor, but it is way better having this to relieve some of that pressure. Very comfortable and easy on the feet and I am really glad I was able to find something like this. Hoping it will continue to work wonders on my back and aching feet.
