Double vinyl LP pressing. Instrumental version of the trio's 2013 album. Deltron 3030 is composed of a trinity of Alt-Rap all-stars: Master lyricist Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, super producer Dan 'The Automator' Nakamura and virtuoso turntablist DJ Kid Koala. Together, on the eponymous Deltron 3030, they warped space, bent time, transcended genre and blew minds, creating an album that still stands today as one of the most important records in the annals of underground Hip Hop. Now, over a decade later, they are finally releasing the long-awaited follow-up to their debut an album titled Deltron 3030: Event II. "This time, the album has a specific story," says Del. "The Deltron world has gone too far with technology. Everything's destroyed, and you just see the remnants of our technology. The streets are run by criminals, the police are outnumbered and outgunned, and we're like pirates, running rogue, doing what we do to survive. That's the scene of it. We're trying to be as literary as possible while dealing with a musical format. I don't know if you could even categorize this as a Hip Hop album - it's more like a rock opera, but using rap."

A must have instrumental album for the fans.
Not a whole lot to add that the description doesn't say. This is the instrumental version of Event II. The record is very high quality. I believe it is 180 gram and packaged well. The disk and cover are of great quality. If you have Event II or are fans of any of the contributing artists, this is a great purchase. Also, this instrumental record has different artwork on the sleeves than the regular album. Each side has half of the scene of the guys driving in the desert with the zombie arm on the bumper (a bit different coloration than the CD booklet. And the other sleeve has the drawings of the "helmeted" citizens, designer helmets and drones on one side and the other is the drawing of Deltron Zero, Captain Aptos, and Skiznod. Remember, the artwork here is huge it being a record and all, so if you are a fan of the art, this is a major nicety.

Good buy for instrumental fans.
Bought in in a package with the non-instrumental version. Pretty interesting to hear Koala and Automator's craft isolated as Del's colourful vocal work are usually quite eclipsing. As one could expect on a track designed for vocals, they're not the same kind of standalone instrumental pieces you get from Koala's solo work, but it's still cool to hear the more subtle parts that are tougher to notice on the standard recording. I'm not a DJ but I'm sure this would be an awesome collection piece.
