What is the difference between the uk version to the none uk version?

When I was researching filters I needed one to filter out lime here in Minnesota. The UK version is made especially to filter all the other stuff AND lime.

What is the difference between the maxtra filters (non-us) and regular round brita filters (us)?

“Maxtra” refers to the size and shape of the filter and hence of the water jug that they fit. You can see from the picture that they are roughly oval in cross-section and are bigger than the filters that are roughly round in cross-section. They are designed to fit the biggest water jugs. Otherwise they work in exactly the same way. (In fact these filters came from the US.)
