Awesome, reasonably priced SUV tent
I’ve had this tent for over a year and I do a lot of car camping in my 2006 Honda Element. I hadn’t tried it out until very recently but decided on a whim to take it on my last trip. Honda Elements are extremely versatile cars and have an almost cult like following, but the rear hatch is quite different from most SUVs on the market now (they stopped making Elements some time back) and the products designed specifically to fit this vehicle are so expensive it’s almost laughable. I found this tent on Amazon and figured I give it a go, knowing that it might not be a perfect fit but prepared to make it work in the interest of saving literally hundreds of dollars. I was very surprised and pleased, both with the quality of the product and the fit. It was easy to set up and with a few careful adjustments it was almost perfect. It provided me with easily an extra 2 feet of interior space in the back of the vehicle AND it allowed me to enter and exit with ease. (A major design flaw in the Element is that Honda did not see fit to equip it with a handle for opening the rear hatch from inside the vehicle). The extra ventilation it allows when sleeping in such a relatively small space is wonderful. It made the whole experience of car camping so much easier that I almost can’t see going without it now. There are some very small gaps near the taillight area where the tent meets the car, but nothing that can’t be managed by tucking in a small cloth, if you’re worried about mosquitoes or other insects finding their way in. It was otherwise perfect, and really one of the best investments I’ve made in my camping gear! Highly recommend!

Easy to set up by myself
Used this on my 2023 Chevy Equinox. Didn't see any other reviews using this on an Equinox so I wanted to share that it does work on that vehicle. Lets just jump to the 2 'cons' that I noticed, since that is why you're reading this right? Pros will come later. 1st: The outside flap (not sure the actual name for it) only has zipper pulls on the OUTSIDE. This makes it very hard to zip it close at night for privacy and weather issues. Not impossible but definitely harder. I couldn't get it zipped all the way closed from inside my car. And it really isn't possible to zip it and get in from another door. This is an easy fix from the company if they put zippers with 2 pulls on, like they have for the mesh covering. I had no issues with zipping the mesh from inside because the zipper had 2 pulls, one on the outside and one on the inside. 2nd: I do not know for sure but I am wondering if it may leak a little if it rains. Thankfully I did not have any rain during the 3 nights I used it. But I did notice light coming in the seams where it was stitched together. There were little pin holes where the stitching was. Obviously it has to be sown together but I am sure there is a way to cover the seams and make them more water proof. Again, I am not saying it will leak as I did not experience any rain. But I am curious if rain will get in through the seams. PROS: This is a pretty simple and easy tent to set up. I set it up alone on my Equinox without any issues. For reference I am 5'5". Word of advice, don't open your hatch all the way at first. Get the tent over the top and up onto part of the roof. Then open it all the way. I tied the cords to my back seat doors instead of the mirror like I had seen in other photos. Once you have it all secure with the ties and the straps on the wheels, make sure you open the hatch the rest of the way. The first night I didn't have it all the way open, I thought it was, and it was a challenge to zip it all the way closed because the zipper was on the bottom of my car and I couldn't get to it. All in all it is a pretty good tent. I had a lot of people ask me where I got it. I will also say, not tent related, but I used a regular twin sized bed mattress (not an air mattress) and it fit pretty well. A little long but I made it work while driving.

Adjustable and kept rain out
Very easy to set up! Used it on a 2001 Honda minivan and it fit perfectly. It’s adjustable and easy to get in and out of. It rained the night we used it and zero water got in.

Works Great on my 4Runner
Just got back from a week of camping in Montana. I purchased this specifically for this trip and am thrilled I did! It fit the back of the 4Runner nicely and was relatively easy for one person to install, even with a little wind. (For reference I'm a 5'6" female) The back awning came in handy as it rained often. I could fit a Coleman camp table, chair, and my cooler under it nicely. I threw a tarp over things when the rain was blowing and to keep critter off my table. It really is spacious. It also held up to a stiff breeze. The only thing I recommend is to upgrade the tent stakes. I honestly wouldn't consider what they sent to be proper tent stakes. I will be replacing mine before my next trip. I also like that the awning can be rolled up to allow for better airflow on warmer nights and better viewing during the day if you find you need a break from the local flying biting wildlife. If you would like additional privacy, it can be zipped closed. I paired this with a couple of the slip-on bug nets for the back windows to allow for extra ventilation, which came in handy in eastern Washington. Overall, after my first run with it I'm very pleased. Will update if anything changes.

So glad I went for it
Fits a 2016 Kia Soul perfectly. Literally sitting in it while I write this review during a pretty heavy rain/wind storm. It's a champ. No leaks and holds up great against the wind. I'm a 5"3' small woman and got it set up very easily by myself.

Perfect in perfect conditions…Useless in wind
Ok, I’m a city girl and total novice [car] camper, but on my 30-day road trip had a love-hate relationship with this tent thingy for my 2018 Prius IV. SHORT REVIEW: If you have camping gear to supplement the faults, and/or use in perfect conditions, then it totally does what you think it will. Otherwise, it could be very much useless or more frustration than worth. LONG REVIEW: First, my initial attempt to use this was boondocking on the Columbia River and that Did. Not. Work. haha, even a kid in a neighboring RV came out to comment that he had no idea what it was, but he thought I was wasting my time trying to figure it out lol. The thing blew away even before installation ever could be completed, and I reeeeally tried for a very long time. Plus, the clips were really cheap and several of them broke/ripped/tore in the process of trying. Caution: DO NOT USE IN WIND. this is probably common knowledge from campers that know about wind and tents/tent-like-things… but I totally had a live and learn experience! Thankfully I didn’t just chuck it though and did attempt it again whilst camping at Glacier Nat’l park a few days later. For that leg of our trip, this sucker was a life savor. Not only did both my pup and I get sick, but it rained literally nonstop for 3 straight days. So we barely left the car! We would have gone nuts in my little prius (2018 Prius IV) without the additional headroom and airflow this provided. *All 3 photos are fro this leg of the trip*. Almost no wind, so it worked a charm. There were also no bugs (still very cold) so I didn’t have to worry about it being bug tight - just water tight. And it was! I was able to stay warm with my bedding and dry with a tarp (may not have needed the tarp if I hadn’t had the puppy) and even could make my coffee in the back of the prius - SO THANKFUL for this tent and the ability to do so! As others mentioned, it didn’t come with tent poles. As I mentioned, I’m a total camping novice. Sooooo i did purchase (pretty cheap) poles and unfortunately never could get them to work with the awning. Had I figured that out, I would have been THRILLED beyond belief with the additional space the awning would provide, but since I never had it, I didn’t necessarily miss it. I had higher hopes with my YouTube-learned skills to get that to work but nope. Hard to know if the fault was in the poles I chose, user error, where we camped, or a combo… but take the ability to use the awning with a grain of salt :). By the end of my 30 day road trip, I totally figured out the quirks of the tent (I used it maybe 9 of the 30 nights)… I’d hook the straps around the tire on one side and the backseat door on the other. I ended up with only 2 of I think 5 original straps for the underpart of the car, but that was sufficient in the end. Since the Prius can have AC/Heat on all night long and use less than a buck’s worth of gas, I usually ended up closing the hatchback at night (and in bear country for obvious reasons), but it was still worth its weight in gold for me for those 3 Rainy, sick nights at Glacier.

Amazing!
Upgrade your car camping! This fits my RAV4 perfectly, and is great quality for the price! I already can’t wait to use it again. It was super fast set up, lightweight and compact, zippers were sturdy and it has an awesome design! I am going to purchase the tent spikes to take the roof out a bit more.

Worth it.
2025 UPD - 3 years on, and still love my Hasika car tent. Havent had any issues with quality. The Small fits 21 Forester. Love the airflow. So easy to put on for senior female even without the instructions. Wish there was another drop down sheet for privacy in addition to awning piece. I used a tarp and extra poles and it worked. Very good price for what you get. I did treat the edges with permerthin[sp?] and waterproofed seams with spray. Nary a bug or drop of water.

Volvo XC90 2018 great fit
Fitted really well to my Volvo XC90 2018. Plenty of anchor points at wheel, roof bars and rear tailgate skirt. As some have said this product could go from a good bit of kit in fantastic if the tie down straps were more substantial. Only tested the fit which was great but I suspect anything bigger than a breeze straps would be questionable. Overall though I am happy with my purchase good value for money and straps can be beefed up using other methods.

Large Fits 2017 Grand Caravan perfectly
We love it! We bought a Queen Size air mattress (double height) and inflated it inside the back of our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. Popped on this little hatchback tent within about 5 minutes. Easy peasy and let's in lots of fresh air. We're having a blast camping out at the family farm. I can't wait to drive this over to a beach somewhere. I think we're might switch the queen mattress for a smaller double size, and then the kids can probably fit too. All in all, this hatchback awning has opened up a world of camping without needing to lug the tent around. I recommend buying some Seam Spray Sealant if you intent to use this in rain. If it rains we would probably just pull it off and close the hatch, though. But as it is, this doesn't look very waterproof given the daylight we can see through the seams. I'm sure the sealant spray would fix that easily enough. Still we highly recommend this product! It's changed our travelling world :) The hatchback awning is so small and portable, we have it stored in our Stow n Go floor storage in the van, along with our air mattress and sleeping bags. This means we are literally ready to camp any time any where, without our equipment ever being in our way on a day to day basis.

Amazing!
Took on a 3 week road trip and it performed in sun, wind and rain! Provided so much extra space inside my corolla, allowed plenty of air flow and kept the bugs and kangaroos (one jumped in my car cos i left the zipper open lol) out which was a huge bonus haha. Super easy to set up and take down, once you know what you're doing it takes 5 mins to put up and 2 mins to take down. The included straps are a little flimsy and I broke one on my trip, but can be reinforced with some DIY and bungee cords. I also reinforced the top corners where it goes over the top of your boot with some heavy duty cloth tape as I could see those corners would wear down REALLY fast if not. Overall a great tool for car campers! If it was a built a little sturdier it would be perfect 11/10.
