Beautiful - In Loving Memory
My fiance' and I listened to Nina Simone regularly, with many of our favorite songs on this CD. He passed away in December of 2010, quite unexpectedly at a very young age of a heart attack on college campus just before graduation. I was devastated, and it took me several years before I could bear to listen to "our songs" again. Ms. Simone's voice is hauntingly beautiful, this CD is phenomenal as is all of her music. I highly recommend this CD by Ms. Simone, and all of her recordings. Her music is very moving and thought-provoking, still, after having been recorded so many years ago. Her music is truly timeless, beautiful, refined. This is tied at being my favorite CD with one other. Absolutely beautiful.

A classic Nina album
I used to own several of her albums and have been looking to replace the songs I lost. There are lots of compilation albums for Nina Simone, and this one does justice! There are a few songs that I wish they put on it, but at the same time I learned a few more from this album as well!

A great collection.
If you know Nina Simone, then you will love this compilation. The only jarring aspect is that it's from multiple periods in her career, so it seems to jump around quite a bit in styles. However, it's full of some of her greatest performances.

If you love the blues, if you love Nina..
...then you have to get this collection. Nina is one of the premier blues singers of that era. Baby boomers will remember hearing her voice in the background of homes in the south, New York, etc., while they were growing up. Anyone who appreciates the blues or jazz will appreciate Nina's style and presentation. No one sings with more heart and purity, no one draws you into the "Blues" concept better than Nina Simone.

Whoa Miss Nina Simone live is amazing I'm only 22 but love this album. She gives me chills very jazzy and good to listen on the Car at home relaxing drinking Wine.
