It does the job, But......
I'm about done with a tub to shower remodel. After breaking a few porcelin tiles trying to drill my valve and shower openings, I was worried about installing the shower doors, afraid of ruiining even more tiles. I called a guy to do the job, but he never got back to me so my search for a diamond drill bit began. After reading the reviews, I decided on the 5-piece set. Here is what happened. Following the suggestions, I used the pointed tip to start the hole. Once I scratched the surface of the tile, I used the round head (#1) to do the drilling. It worked, but each 1/4" hole took 10 minutes on constant pressure. Not fun. After 20 minutes and two holes, I switched tactics. First, I used the pointed tip to go deeper (say 1/8" deep). I also started dipping the tip in water every 20 seconds or so. It only took a minute to got 1/8". Then I switched to another round head bit (#2) and (dipping it in water every 20-30 seconds) after 60-90 seconds, the hole was drilled. NICE!!! The remaining 7 holes were drilled in 15 minutes ro so!!! I even went back to bit #1 and it was just as fast as bit #2. So, the differemce was dipping the tip in water (contrary to the suggestions by the manufacturer).....That's why I gave this product 4 stars (and not 5). Hope this helps some of you out there!!! :-)

Don't ask me why....
It worked, but NOT the way I thought it would. Installing a grab bar I was ready for a nightmare - our glass tiles are near impossible to drill.... First three holes took half an hour with a slow speed etc. and I figured I'll have to use a second drill bit for the next two.... since there was nothing to lose and drill has a hex drive, I put it in my Bosch 12V Impact driver... drilled at full speed, dunking it in a glass of water every 20-30 seconds when wax started to smoke; Finished three holes in less than five minutes!!! What's more, "diamonds" seem all there and bit looks great. I am still scratching my head, but, there you are - my two cents! YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY ;-)

Got the Job Done
Purchase these dry diamond drill bits to install two ADA grab bars in my bathroom. There where a total of 10 holes that I need to drill through porcelain tile set on 1/2 " thick concrete backer board. It took two bits and approximately five minutes for each hole to get the job done given the density and toughness of the porcelain tile. While I was drilling the holes, I had my son spray water occasionally to keep the bit from overheating. I highly suggest the method described in many reviews, of using painters tape in area where the hole is going to be drilled as well as placing the bit tip at a slight angle to keep the bit from sliding. Once a small indentation has been created on the surface of the tile the drill bit can be straighten. I would recommend avoiding the use of excessive force and allowing the drill bit to slowly grind the porcelain tile to the desire depth. Overall I found these drill bits effective but not very durable.

Don't forget to add water while drilling
Even though these are wax cooled bits add water to make drilling much easier.

Bien
Efficace.

They wear out quickly
For this price, they really are a disposable product. managed to get 3-4 holes from each diamond bit, then it's onto the next one.The pointed bit is much better though and has worked flawlessly during the installation of new bathroom fitments onto Porcelain tiles. All in all, a good product, cheaper by miles than well known brands and for the one off project ideal.
