If you like getting burnt or setting your property on fire!
My father-n-law had one and he liked it fine aside from having to correct a small electrical issue. I bought this one and was really excited to use it. Got it prepared and put gas in it, if only I had known they had left a gas line loose, maybe it was a product design. Struggled to get it to run for more than a few seconds. I guess the fuel pooled up in the bottom somewhere but it ignited while I was trying to start it and blew up. Sounded like a bomb going off while I was pulling the cord. I didn't get any serious injuries out side of my pride(father n law was watching), just some small 1st degree burns and alot of missing hair. After the explosion the damn thing wouldn't quit burning. We were in the woods and were worried it was gonna catch the land on fire as it was still full of about 2 gallons of fuel. We ended up having to dump about 4 loads of dirt on it to get it to go out. Lol. I contacted them and spoke with a man directly a few times, he was nice and refunded my money and also said he would send me another generator of a different brand, but I needed to dig up the one I buried and send it back so that they could do further safety and quality inspections. So I dug this poor thing outta the ground and put it back in it's box (after draining all it's fluids of course) and shipped it back to them. I was refunded my money, never seen the free generator for my pain, suffering and troubles. Oh well, it was eventful. Figured I'd share my story so as to save others from the troubles.

Great new unit
Great product at a great price, starts right up. Home Depot shipped and light enough for me to lift solo. Didn’t come damaged, they did disconnect the spark plug from factory I guess for safety, had to figure that out after that started right away. Very pleased.update, one thing you must do is change the cheap spark plug which is a torch to an iridium spark plug, you can buy it here on amazon, starts up in 1/2 pull manually, best upgrade.

Works great on a 30 amp RV. Might catch fire from pin hole leak in gas line
I use this for power in my wolf pup travel trailer. Works very well.Had to lower the stars on this product. Even tho my generator is working well. I had my mother order one because I was happy with mine. When hers came in my dad (85years) threw away the packing material. Next day I found a gas leak the hose going into the tank has a hole in it. I Replaced the hose no big deal right? 34 days later the battery fails. I contacted the distributor because it was out of Amazon's return window. I was told by the distributor that they would send a new battery. Thought that would clear things up. 2 weeks no battery and no email confirmation. In conclusion it appears that you have a fifty-fifty chance of getting one that works correctly.

Gas hog
Love the generator, but as for gas this generator is the worst on gas I’ve bought. Good with quite if looking to save on fuel this generator is not for you 5 gal gas to 5 hours running time with no load

Must have got a Friday unit... Multiple problems. Disassembled to find fix
I decided to purchase this unit to replace a 3500watt inverter of another manufacturer. I like the idea of additional available output when using the 30A receptacle for our RV. With our previous unit we are limited to ~25A continuous, but the 4500w unit should be able to deliver a FULL, CONTINUOUS 30A service to our camper.Upon receiving the unit, the box was pretty beat up which in itself wasnt too big of a concern... Its a 115lb box being shipped across the country... I get it. The padding inside the box did its job and there was not visible external damage to the unit aside form one small scuff on one of the side panels. Not an issue for me.I got the generator unboxed, filled with oil and fuel, turned the battery and fuel on and attempted to start it with the push-button on the front panel... Nothing. The starter didnt engage. No clicking or any response... Puzzled, I pulled the recoil starter and it fired up within two pulls. The front panel lights up and the unit is running... I could tell something wanst right though... The engine wasnt running well. It was stumbling and surging. The whole unit was shaking. I decided to let it run for a few minutes to warm up and de-choke, but it continued to run poorly for 5 minutes. I shut the fuel off and let it begin to run out of fuel... I noticed that it began to run better once the fuel was nearly run out in the carb bowl... I began to think the choke was stuck on.I decided to try and find out why electric start wasnt working to start with, so I started to pull the front panel off. Doing so, I found that 3 of the 5 screws were stripped in the plastic panel. I took several voltage measurements at the various 12v switches. I had power and ground being supplied to everything in the front panel and the battery on/off switch was functioning. THEN I noticed that the ground/earth wire to the 30A and 20A outlets wasnt even connected at the 30A receptacle... Thats a big problem... Connected that and continued troubleshooting.I followed the wire harness as it snakes down into the internals of the unit and thats where I found ALL the issues... There is a single module that controls all of the electric and remote start functions. Literally none of it was connected. The factory wiring diagram denotes this as "Remote-Start Module" but it does more than this... It also controls the push-button start and the stepper motor or the electric choke. Once these MULTIPLE connections were made, the unit now starts and runs properly, quietly, and smoothly. I have yet to hook the generator to our RV since I'd like to run it for several hours without a load first... I'll be sure to update if there are any more problems I find along the way.Overall Im pleased with the performance of the unit, but the quality-control is apparently non-existent. THERE IS NO WAY that this unit passed any sort of QC in its previous condition. Luckily, Im well-versed in 12v electronics and diagnostics and was able to revive it without the hassle of a warranty claim or return. When this generator inevitably does meet its end, I HIGHLY doubt I'll be returning to the Pulsar brand for my replacement...
