Minimally tighten the screws, or the bit will break
I'm happy overall with this product and would recommend it to others. The bit broke on me as I was tightening the screws. I do not feel that I overtightened, so I would just suggest you "minimally tighten" the screws. Despite the no-return policy, after reaching out to the seller, they were very helpful and advised me that I could still get a return through Amazon. I got a full-refund and have been able to re-purchase a new bit head. Between the bit head breaking, and the seller not offering a direct refund (which would show they stand behind their product), I think a 4 star rating of the product is appropriate. Also, note that this set comes with two front plate-style and two back plate-style screws. I just wanted four back plate style screws, so really I wanted this product: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014GFB8YG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1If unsure on screw size, I would stick with this product.

Very prompt delivery!
Very prompt delivery! Ordered very late Tuesday evening and they were delivered on Friday. They appear as advertised, and hopefully will provide a little more security for my license plates and plate holders.I would have preferred screws with a tapered edge instead of a relatively tall, squared edge as these have; but perhaps in future years when it's time to replace license plates and (if) I can't find the bit, I might be glad for the shape as they might be fairly easily removable with just a pair of pliers. In any case, they're much better than what I had to begin with.

These screws saved me a lot of time. I have a 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback and I wanted to replace the cheap license frame with a nice frame. I wanted to lock my new frame and the "universal" screws I bought at Pep Boys did not fit. They were too thick because the Honda has these plastic pieces in the holes of the back frame. These screws are a little thinner which worked perfectly.

ONE WAY INSTALL BUT NO REMOVAL! Must have for my personalized plates... Until removal is necessary
I believe my personalized plates are highly desired by thief's. So this should stop them or at least slow them down.UPDATE! Changed rating to one star! Upon the first time attempting to remove the screws the driver bit broke. So this is Secure from the owner too!

It's too bad these aren't a bit longer for security
The machine screw pair fit on our Nissan Leaf 2011; the self-tapping pair fit on our Honda CRV 2010. It's too bad these aren't a bit longer for security, but after three weeks, they're still holding, so I guess they're fine. We keep the special tool in the glove box so it stays with the car!

Not that they will guarantee your plates won't get stolen ...
Not that they will guarantee your plates won't get stolen but a unique enough that you can't find the tool in any simply auto parts store (like you can with the star pin tool). Works perfectly for my needs of attaching a frame, clear cover, license plate and universal front plate mount to the front and back if '16 cx 5

More secure bolt option to keep rearview camera from 'walking away easily'....
Works great for my need. I used these to help 'keep' my license plate mount rearview camera from 'walking away easily'..Installed as advised, using the tighter thread bolts for the back plate bracket. Easy install using hand driver and the included bit shown in the item pic.

It will slow them down.
While this won't prevent my license plate from being stolen it will slow the thieves down. That's about all you can hope for.
