Nice netbook, shame about the keyboard
I bought this after a good look around. I didn't want the smaller sceen of some of the netbooks but didn't want or need a full size laptop. The Acer 751 seemed to fit the bill. I looked at them in shops such as phones 4U and everything seemed fine, including the keyboard. My only reservation was the crystalbrite screen.I duly ordered the machine and was pleased with it when it arrived. The screen was better than I expected. It came with the usual mountain of rubbish-ware that most machines come with which I blew away. I've been pleased with the laptop for most things. It's light, easy to use, good battery life in the 3.5 to 4 hours timeframe. I didn't feel it was poorly made as some other reviews have said. If you want something built like a brick - buy a Mac - for 4 times the price.I've tried the webcam with my daughter who's at university in the USA and it works reasonably well, better than some I've tried. Sound quality is reasonable, with headphones (small inbuilt speakers are rubbish on most PCs I've come across). It isn't all good. The keyboard is uneven and requires more pressure on some keys than with others which makes quick typing impossible. While I bought it mostly for surfing and light work it would have been much better with a decent keyboard, even as good as the one's I tried in the shops - maybe they are heavyily used and mine might improve. I can't really recommend this to anyone because of the keyboard. Yes you can buy an add on for a few £s but it defeats the objective of a highly portable PC such as this. Also I occassionally get some hang ups with it. That might be some rogue software I've installed or it might be my wifi connection so the jury is still out on that one.

Thank you for a speedy and fabulous service.
I had great difficulty purchasing this netbook from the local stores for my sons birthday as this was the particular notebook that he wanted. I found this notebook on Amazon which was significantly cheaper and they delivered it to my home the next day for free. I will recommend Amazon to all of my family and friends. Thank you Amazon.Regards.

Beautiful netbook, but...
It's a really beautiful netbook, but it suffers a major issue. It freezes randomly all the time, especially during a video or voice call on skype. After freeze, the only thing you can do is to hardreset it. Actually a third acer 751 is on his way to me, just because of this problem. The second one frozen for a first time just after 1 minute of videocall on Skype. It's a common problem with acer 751 and even a producer don't know how to solve it. So, if you want to use it with Skype, just forget about it, and remember it freezes even during a web browsing sometimes.
