Nice little model -- keep you busy for a few hours.
Well designed! I found the key to complete hollow spaces (like BB8's body) and ended up with a firm, stable little construct! Pieces are very small so lots of extras are given. I had almost 100 extra pieces but not all pieces had extras. The hardest parts of the model was the start of each section. The first "level" can only be laid out and try to keep it in the shape needed. The next level or two will begin to connect the pieces to form a solid figure. There's no "connection" with one level except for the base.I found out how to get a hollow part to close firmly and stable. The top level of the base of the hollow part had cantilevered pieces. Some dramatically so. In this model, there are 4 pieces that are 2 x 4 pips with only 2 pips connected to the base and the rest out over space to support the top when put on. I found that you should go ahead and complete that layer but don't press to hard on the cantilevered pieces. Complete the "lid" and set it lightly on top of the base to see where it connects. Then carefully REMOVE the cantilevered pieces and place them on the bottom of the lid in the correct place. After that is done, put the lid back on the base and press firmly. You only have to do the edge of those pieces and the whole thing fits firmly! Some reviews have complained about the instructions. I did not find them a problem at all. If you have trouble "reading" pictures, they may be a problem but there's not much choice in a model like this. I did need reading glassed in a few places to figure out where the black dividing line was on the pieces to know what shape I needed. There were 2 pieces (connect to form one piece permanently) that was marked as the wrong color in the instructions. The "neck" was shown to be black but my pieces where the ivory (not quite white). It makes no difference -- you can't see the neck when it's done.Just take your time, relax, and enjoy yourself and this is no problem. It is NOT for children. The age marking of 14+ is fairly accurate. However, I'm 60+ so I guess it's OK for me.
