I bought this for my wife - who's laptop has no CD drive.She bought some old CDs and then realised she had no way of playing them - so I bought this.It could not be easier to install.She connected it to her Windows 7 laptop and within seconds, I heard the dulcet tones of The Beatles coming from the living room.It installed itself with no user intervention whatsoever.Having known things like this take hours to install (Windows 95 😱), it's a pleasure when "it does what it says on the tin".I love a simple life - and a happy wife :)

I have Ubuntu installed on an iMac 32" from 2013, whose un-openable external DVD drive failed. This was by far the cheaper, effective replacement for reading old DVDs, CDs and backups. The UPGRADED description is confusing - it was delivered as new.

We bought this as our laptop doesn’t take disks and it works really well the only downside is it’s got to be powered up to remove the disk but apart from that it works really well 😁

I recently got a new laptop for my birthday, and it lacks a disc drive. Because I use a disc drive to rip optical media, I needed to purchase one for that purpose. And I am very happy with it. The instructions are hard to read, due to being translated into English from another language. Basically, all you need to do is plug it in, and it comes on automatically. I tested it with a CD I had, and it ripped it within 5 minutes. Ultimately, it worked for me, and would recommend it for that price.

Extremely bad product, did not work.

The product is excellent value,compact & appears well made.Initial useage was difficult as I did n't realise that I had to download software from the internet before being able to use it, but hasen to add this is not really the suppliers fault.

really slim sleek design, literally plug it in and its ready. no instructions needed. USB cable tucks into the unit for storage/transport. feels robust and well made.

Unfortunately I don't use this item at all.I bought this to watch my DVDs on my PC.I have quite a few issues with this device that I feel are important to note and highlight why you should purchase another device.For starters the build quality of this product is lacking. It feels flimsy, the tray itself slides in and out of the sleeve and while moving it tends to fall out. Making it not very secure.The placement of the USB cable on this device is also very very annoying. It is on the bottom of the device for some reason meaning rather than laying flat while in use it is pushed up at the back to an angle.In addition to this the cable itself is incredibly short. Making it not especially versatile and awkward to place in a set up.Finally and possibly the most disappointing thing to note is that this device doesnt read 4k DVD. This is noted nowhere in the product description and only on one of the product images very out of the way from the consumer.Would not recommend. Go for another more versatile device with better build quality.

Contente malgré une belle peur en voyant le carton Amazon ouvert dans ma boîte a lettre !Il faut télécharger VLC ça ne lit pas sur Windows media mais pas gênant pour quelq'un qui sait un peu faire.Pas bruyant.A voir dans le temps.Il remplace mon lecteur intégré pc portable qui a rendu l'âme.

Fonctionne très bien avec linux mais impossible de le reconnaître sous Windows 11 dommage
