I have been a fan of Aloe Vera gel for most of my life! I use it from head to toe! While I have tried extracting my own gel from leaves, I have tried many brands over the years. Lily of the Desert is, and will always be my favorite brand! I buy several types of their gel, but I purchase this gel specifically for my skin and hair. I love that it moisturizes, soothes and treats my skin, but it works so well as a scalp treatment! Whether my scalp is overwhelmed by environmental factors, or just dry. This gel soothes and heals my scalp overnight:) I absolutely love this gel! I have allergies and my skin is sensitive. If I get a flare of eczema or dermatitis, this gel soothes the itch and helps my skin heal faster! My only wish is that they made bigger bottles. The pump, and quality of the gel itself, distinguishes Lily of the Desert from other brands! Trust me! It’s so good from head to toe, that it can even be used on curly hair to define curls without build up!

I have used this product for years and it is consistent. Local store was out, so I decided to check here for availability and better price and found both. Used for shaving and and as hair gel. No allergic reactions ever - works perfect for my use. I do prefer actual aloe leaves, but the local quality is not so good. This is the best next to the actual plant that I have found.

This is a great product. I use it morning and night, as part of my routine. It leaves your skin smooth, lessens the look of wrinkles, and makes your skin feel tighter. It dries on your skin without feeling sticky.

Love love love this product. I use this as a face serum daily, and it makes my skin feel so soft, and it absorbs well without feeling sticky, like other Aloe Gels. It really moisturizes your skin.

Overall, I think that this is an excellent product with lots of uses -- see a couple of caveats below. I've purchased and used 8 - 10 bottles over the past 2 years or so. Mostly, I apply it all over my face and neck after shaving in the morning and am pleased with the slightly tightening and softening effect from the aloe on my 45+ year old skin. I also use it, occasionally, as a hair gel -- it provides SOME body/hold for my short hair, but it is not a substitute for the holding power of normal hair gel. Also, I've found this effective in minimizing itches from minor irritations like mosquito bites. Of course, it's fantastic for sunburn. The caveats: (1) when applying it to the body (arms, legs, hands, etc.), it can have a little bit of a sticky feel; not a big deal for me, but one of my daughters dislikes it for this reason, and (2) others have commented about "burning" their skin. One of the bottles I've used had a slightly irritating (kind of burning feel) effect on my skin that none of the bottles before or since has had. I can only speculate that, since the product had not reached its expiration date, perhaps Lily of the Desert's quality control slipped up on this one and, maybe, the pH of that particular product was a little off -- I can't say for sure. But, this experience does make me wonder if consumers whose natural pH is slightly different than mine might regularly have problems(?). The only way to know for sure is to try it yourself, but most reviewers seem to have had very good experiences with the aloe, as I have. Bottom line: if you know that you have sensitive skin, then this might not be the product for you. Otherwise, I highly recommend it for many different uses.

I will repurchase in unscented. I didn't realize that it was lily scented. Although a pleasant & light scent. I just have allergies. I’ve been using it for a few days. It’s gluten free in case you have a wheat allergy. I am using it on a large burn that is healing. I also plan on adding it into my facial care. I appreciate that aloe lightly moisturizes, fades scars, & helps heal wounds. I tried this as an aftershave lotion for shaving my legs & it worked well. I have very sensitive skin & so far no issues. Good buy!

Gel easily smooths over and softens my crazy dry skin. I also use it on my scalp before shampooing and it seems to help with itching. It’s not sticky or oily.

me encanta el gel de aloe vera de lily of desert y lo usamos desde hace muchos años tanto para la hidratación de la piel como para el cabello como gel fijador. en la piel se absorbe muy bien y no se queda pegajoso a diferencia de otros geles de aloe vera que llevan aromas , colorantes y alcohol.
