Best Pan Ever. Almost Too Non Stick ;)
If you’re anything like me—someone who considers burning water a kitchen mishap—you’ll understand why discovering this non-stick pan felt like striking culinary gold! I've tossed everything at it, from eggs aspiring to be omelets to fish fillets hoping for a crisp fate, and not once has this champion of cookware let me down. There's a running joke in my house that this pan is almost too non-stick; food practically levitates above its surface! Seriously, I could have probably upgraded to this superhero skillet years ago and saved countless meals. Its non-stick prowess means that cleaning is a breeze too. You could probably get away with a stern look, but a gentle swipe with a cloth does the trick! The handle is sturdy, reassuringly attached, and hasn’t given up on me yet—a miracle given that I swing it around like a kitchen wand. In conclusion, this pan is my new kitchen hero. It’s survived everything I’ve cooked and even some things I shouldn’t have tried. Five stars because I can’t give it six!

A well made pan - but will it last?
At this point in my life I have purchased more non-stick pans than I can shake a stick at. Within the last couple of years I have purchased granite pans made by Kolex. While they held up well to scratching, the non-stick only lasted about 8 to 10 months with almost daily use. So this time around, and based on some testing by the creator of a You Tube channel called "Project Farm", I have decided to give the Green Pan a try.I have only used this pan a couple of times and it has performed very well so far. It has one of the best non-stick surfaces of any pan I have ever tried. It is a solid well made pan with good weight and nice balance. It also came completely assembled. The handle is securely attached and does not get hot when in use. Time will tell when it comes to durability, but what I have seen so far I like.Buying a Green Pan is somewhat of an experiment for me since I normally do not spend this much for a frying pan. And at this point I cannot really recommend it since I don't know if spending the extra money will be worth it in the long run. Time will tell and I will update my review either when this pan starts to stop being non-stick or has lasted longer than any other pan I have tried....we will see !!WHY THE GREEN PANBack in the day Teflon was king, but as most people know they eventually start to flake and those flakes can be poisonous. So starting about 10 years ago I made a concerted effort to get pans that were PFOA/PFAS free. However, finding one that is safe but also lasts a long time is not an easy task and contrary to popular belief, and what manufactures will tell you, there are no non-stick pans that last forever...period...end of story. Which is why I normally do not spend this much for a frying pan - they simply do not last. If you want a pan that lasts forever, buy stainless steel or cast iron. The best I have gotten from a non-stick pan has been about a year. Now that is using the pan 4-5 times a week, so take that for what it's worth. The reason I choose this pan is based on the testing of Project Farm mentioned earlier. He designs very unique tests to determine if a product holds up to the manufacturer's claims and how well it does against the competition...great channel and one I highly recommend. While the Green Pan was not the best in every category, it scored the highest in the durability test where a hardness test kit was used to measure the durability of the surface of all the test pans. The Green Pan was the only one to reach level 6...very impressive.Based on my experience, the hardness of the surface makes a huge difference in how long a non-stick pan will last. Some of the pans tested did a little better on some of the non-stick tests, but were very easily scratched. Even though I use mostly wooden or plastic utensils, if a pan's surface is too soft even wood can scratch it. Meaning it will start to flake at some point and even though it might not be toxic, I do not want that in my food. Plus, if the non-stick surface of the pan breaks down, logic dictates food will start to stick.I also took into consideration how I use the pan. While I do use it often for things like making bacon and frying eggs, I also do a lot of stir fry type meals where you would use a wooden spoon to mix and stir the contents, making considerable contact with the non-stick surface. In the last case the hardness of the pan is a key factor versus things like; evenness of heat (difference between hottest and coolest part of pan), and thermal efficiency (how quickly it heats up), which do not really factor in.So my decision to buy the Green Pan, and spend more than I normally do, is based mainly on the durability factor...for me that just makes sense - for you it might not !!

High quality green pan
I absolutely love this pan! After using it over a dozen times now, I can't believe I spent so many years settling for cheap non-stick pans. The Original Green Pan cooks food evenly without sticking, and requires only low to moderate heat. It is so easy to clean! Just let the pan cool down, add a bit of soapy water, and use a kitchen sponge to wipe out food bits and residues. I dry it immediately with a soft cotton towel and return it to its designated cupboard space.Speaking of this pan's non-stick surface, I love that it does not emit harmful chemicals into the air or the food, as I'm quite particular about reducing industrial products and by-products whenever possible.I also really like the style of this particular pan, the Paris Pro model. It has an attractive handle that stays cool even after the pan is over heat for several minutes. The only thing I don't like is that the manufacturer recommends never using cooking sprays because the aspirant can damage the anodized surface. It's an issue for me because I prefer to NOT use pressed oils in my food due to the added unnecessary fat calories (I don't even keep such oils in my kitchen!). But I can use water, wine, broth, or nothing in the case of some foods. Aside from that minor challenge, this pan is quickly becoming my new favorite for sautéing and braising, and re-heating small portions of leftovers.I separately bought the matching glass-and-metal cover, which helps with cooking foods like mushrooms, onions, fennel, and cauliflower, which I like to caramelize before softening. The price for this pan (and the cover) may seem high to some folks, but I feel it is worth the cost to have a pan that will likely last a lifetime when cared for properly! I can't say that for ANY of the other inexpensive non-stick pans I have purchased in the past.

Best Greenpan!
We have other green pans in the house, but I love this style. You don’t have to be as delicate as some of their others. This one can actually go in the dishwasher, stands up to higher heat, and allows for more oils to be used. I had accidentally used olive oil on one of the other pans and it removed the nonstick adhesive from that part of the pan. This one allows for much for flexibility and is more forgiving. You don’t have to change your way of cooking to adapt to the pan, but rather the pan adapts to you and your lifestyle. The metal is also thicker on this pan and allows for more regulated heating and holds heat better when you are trying to do something low and slow. Highly recommend this pan and the rest of this line.
