My absolute favorite black and red licorice (at least for now) is Sweet Gourmet's Italian licorice wheels, but these are an extremely close second.I prefer a really strong anise component in black licorice along with that "shiny finish" - I mean that in the best possible way. I'm generally disappointed by "large log" Australian brands and, while we all grew up on plasticky Twizzlers, they're strictly "only thing left in the vending machine" these days.The red Lalees wheels are a pleasant surprise, very natural-tasting with a firm texture. I've had red wheels you can barely unwind without breaking (licorice wheels are the best play-with-your-food food!). I'd go so far to say while the Italian black wheels remain tops for me, the Lalees red probably win out in terms of taste and texture.All in all, a top shelf find.

Good flavor, a little stale, and the red bag wasn't sealed properly and was 1/3 open.

Received this an waited for a birthday party exactly 32 days later to open. It was sooo hard I have bought laces before an they have been so neat roll around your finger ext.. not this so hard it broke pieces off ever time you tried. Flavor was ugly I guess due to dryness. Be warned open for freshness.

As a licorice lover, I must say these two met my needs for both red and black. Thanks for the good, although a bit pricey, product.

Lalees needs to invest a little bit of money into their quality control measures. All they would have had to do was squeeze each of the bags before boxing them up to know that neither one contained fresh licorice! The red wheels were almost hard; and though the black wheels were better, they were by no means fresh. If I had bought these for myself, and it wasn't so close to Christmas when I ordered them, I would definitely be returning them. Luckily kids don't care so much about freshness to enjoy candy.

Great taste but too hard to chew careful of dental work

We enjoy licorice. I like the red/cherry and he likes the black. Therefore, this was a good combo package.Actually, it's rare to even see the wheels. Really reminded us when we were kids.
