Moonwalkers

Entirely Possible!!
Being raised by a military man, I've always believed we don't know half of what our government is up to. This movie puts that all into perspective while making it look like a joke. I rarely like comedies, but this one is perfect. Perfect casting, great directing - if you're a "baby boomer", trust me, you'll love it! Couldn't have picked a better actor to play "Kidman". Warning - A LOT of blood and gun violence - not for kids.

So much fun!
If you read the synopsis, maybe it's ruined for you. Or any of the reviews. I accidentally watched this and it's great! A big surprise of a fun movie. No spoilers here, that's pretty much it. I clicked to see more information and apparently accidentally hit play. Next thing I know I'm stopping what I was doing and became drawn into the story quite easily. Go in with zero expectations and you may just be surprised!

Ron Perlman saves the space program!
In this freaked out indi produced film actor Ron Perlman plays a (burned out) CIA operative in 1969 London trying to get (the elusive) director Stanley Kubrick to make a fake moon landing film as a fail safe for NASA if the real moon landing should fail. Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley from the Harry Plotless films) plays the manager of a failing hard/acid rock band (imagine a really BAD Spinal Tap type band!) who owes a mobster (The Iron Monger) lots of money. Him and his buddy dupe Perlman's character (the CIA man) into thinking they are Kubrick and his manager, so they can get their hands on the cash. Hilarity ensues when the CIA man finds out he was fooled and wants his cash back, but the two stand ins don't have it, because the (London) mobsters came and took all of it back from them (plus interest!). Imagine Donald Cammell's Performance meets Clockwork Orange with small does of The Killing and other Kubrickian films. Things get surreal when the CIA man gets dosed with LSD and he meets (out there) underground film makers trying to fake footage of the moon landing! It later goes totally wrong (& sideways) when the London mobsters shoot it out with the CIA folks (with the stoned hippies in the crossfire!) like a psychedelic version of the ending to the Wild Bunch meets Easy Rider and The Long Good Friday. Nods and echoes to many period films and people in this production. No Turn Left Unstoned!

mostly 5 stars
The first half is 5+ stars. The second half and ending were 4-ish stars. But, worth watching, in my opinion. Some great individual performances, but it just didn't come together as a movie.

Nicely surprised
I've always loved Ron Perlman which is why I watched this. Didn't expect much but was nicely surprised that it's really funny.

Was looking forward to watching this...but...
I received a version of the DVD with German labeling on the outside... It ended up being the wrong region and did not work.

Ron Perlman rocks
I was a bit sceptical when I bought this film but being such a huge fan of Ron Perlman and it being such a good price thought I,d give it a go and i,m so pleased I did this is an awesome movie Ron is in excellent form as C I A agent Kidman and Rupert Grint as Johnny is great. You would never think these two would work together but they really do there is lots of action and blood spilt as these two try to get a film about the moon landing made and Kidman on an acid trip is a must see. I recommended this movie to anyone would give it 10 stars if I could a perfect addition to my collection. Absolutely awesome.
