Recommended for both productivity and gaming.
I have been using the Razer DeathStalker Expert keyboard for a week now, and I am really starting to enjoy and appreciate it. My previous keyboard of 6 years is the Logitech G11, which I bought twice after a nasty liquid-related accident with the first one. I wanted a replacement after the blue backlight began to dim on the G11 (use at night was a major driver for me) and was consistently directed to the Razer by searches and the reviews I read, which speaks volumes about the company and this product. Users of the keyboard clearly love it, their happy reviews swayed me to buy it on Amazon and it is a great piece of kit to own! I love the backlighting, it is bright green and stands out like a sore thumb - which is awesome in the dark, and has application even during the day to highlight keys just that faint amount. My typing accuracy and speed has improved over the G11 mechanical keys. I am still getting used to applying the right amount of pressure when typing, it clearly takes time to adjust to the chiclet style keys. However, the rebound after depressing the key seems to cue me to type the next letter and by "bouncing" my finger off. This speeds up typing noticeably, while the clear lettering and key spacing makes for confident key presses. Less hunt, more peck. It's a solid, sleek-looking high quality item, it feels less plasticky than my G11. The way it's designed gives me better tactile feedback about the key location and where my fingers are - very useful for productivity while typing, and while gaming. The time saved = more bullets on target if you're a regular gamer. I feel the benefit in Star Citizen with better control of my ship functions through quicker response. (I recognised it all lit up on Chris Roberts' desk during "10 For The Chairman", it looks awesome!) It's surprisingly small and low profile, pleasingly attractive and awesomely eye catching when it's lit up. I haven't used the Synapse software yet, but look forward to giving it a try - as well as the on-the-fly macro feature. The audio and media functions are easily accessible and due to it's design simplicity the functions are a snap to find and operate. I'm pleased so far with this keyboard, and recommend it to anyone on the fence about a new keyboard. It's an excellent upgrade.

Great gaming keyboard.
I recently bought this keyboard a few weeks ago. I personally prefer the chiclet key type, and not the mechanical, and I'm used to typing on my laptop, SO i decided to find a keyboard with chiclet keys and a wrist rest. I really enjoy typing on this keyboard. The chiclet keys are very low to the keyboard, they don't have the super light touch feel of a laptop keyboard so they're a little harder to press, but I think that means it will just be more durable. PROS: The very adjustable green backlighting. The keys are quiet and feel great. The wrist rest is at a slight angle and is very comfortable. Grease from my hands doesn't tend to stick much to the keys at all, and if they do, simply wiping it with a cloth removes most of it. The several Ghost settings and game settings work great. CONS: The keys are a little bit harder to push than a laptop keyboard, I can see some people not really liking it, but it doesn't really bother me. The wrist rest could be just a little longer, especially for people with bigger hands. Otherwise, I think the price on this is about right for the brand and comfort. I believe that it will last for a long time too, but I've only had it for a few weeks, so I can't say for certain.

Excellent gaming keyboard
I was looking for a gaming keyboard, and I contemplated between buying this and the Razer mechanical keyboard. In the end, I decided on not buying a mechanical keyboard because they are expensive, and from looking at the reviews, they seem to be having problems. Also. I wanted a wrist rest on my keyboard, and the Razer mechanical keyboard doesn't have one that's as nice as the DealthStalker. I then decided to buy the Perixx PX-3000, Programmable Backlit Gaming Keyboard. I wanted a keyboard with backlighting, and of all the ones I have seen, it was least expensive. Bad move. There were several things about that keyboard I didn't care for. I immediately sent it back and purchased the Razer DeathStalker. I am very happy with my purchase. The keys are very responsive, and the backlighting is fantastic. Let me list out the pros and cons. Pros: 1. Excellent backlighting. Very bright - great for gaming sessions in low light. 2. Very comfortable wrist rest 3. No need to use the Synapse software. I don't ever use the Fn key 4. Keys are very responsive. It might take a little bit of getting used to the style of keys. I have always used keyboards with thick keys. The keys on this one are slim, and very low to the ground if you catch my meaning. I was apprehensive about buying it for this reason. I have no complaints about it whatsoever. It probably took about 20 minutes to get used to it. Cons: 1. This is not really a con at the moment, but I think he letters on the keys will fade sooner than later. That's just an impression. I will post an update if they do. 2. Very susceptible to get oil on fingers. I don't really care about this, but for someone who might, watch out. 3. I wish there was an option to change the backlight color to Orange or Yellow. I am not a huge fan of green. In the end, the cons aren't really cons, but its something to take note for potential buyers.

Better Than the Logitech G110 or G510
I've been reading a number of reviews trying to help find the right gaming keyboard for me. Despite the fact that Logitech promotes dim backlighting as a feature, I tried the G110 hoping it would be bright enough but it had a squeaky spacebar and the limited backlighting having only shades of red, blue and purple was way too dim. So I traded it in and upgraded to the G510 hoping that with it's wide array of backlighting color choices, I would be able to find one that was actually bright enough for my needs. Unfortunately, it was just as dim as the G110 with some keys appearing completely unlit unless I stood directly over them. I went to Logitech for support and received no additional information on how to make the keys any brighter than the maximum 255,255,255 setting I already had them on. Disappointed with my findings, I began looking at Razer keyboards. The Razer Lycosa seemed nice and was in my price range but it also had negative reviews for dim backlighting. Then I stumbled across the Razer Deathstalker (The upgraded version of the Lycosa) and the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013. The Blackwidow was nice and the reviews exclaimed that the backlighting was very bright but the price tag being over $100 was more than I was willing to spend. So I took a hard look at the Razer Deathstalker Expert and decided to give it a chance as a last ditch effort of finding a gaming keyboard that worked for me and I am glad that I did . The backlighting on it is bright enough to be seen in a fully lit room and absolutely beautiful in dimly lit settings. ALL of the keys are well lit with no dim areas like the Logitech suffered from. The keys are quiet and very responsive having the low profile chicklet design but I will admit that it took me about a week to get used to typing on them. Now I find it very enjoyable however. I also enjoy the wrist rest, which I had some reservations about since i never really use them but this one has a nice low profile so it doesn't get in the way of my typing and it has a nice feel to it. So why 4 stars instead of 5? This keyboard isn't perfect. The green backlighting is very nice but it would have been even nicer to have more color choices to match my other computer gear. I would also like for the Razer logo to light up and fade the way my Naga does. Add in a couple of USB ports to support my mouse and headset and finally, I wish it had a separate old school media control panel in the upper right hand corner wimilar to Logitechs. If Logitech got one thing right with their keyboards, that was it and never being a fan of touch screens, I miss the barrel volume control and separate media buttons. These are minor quibbles though and there are a lot of keyboards out there that leave much more to be desired. If you are looking for a solid gaming keyboard, with nice backlighting and responsive programmable keys, look no further. This is the one.

solid chiclet style
I was skeptical about purchasing my first Razor product as I have heard numerous rumors about the quality of their products ranging from overpriced to great quality. I have to say that this keyboard falls in the latter category; a great first impression by Razor. For the price point it is completely reasonable if you don't want to fork over the money for a mechanical keyboard. The back lighting is nice and bright even with the lights on in my room. I love the chiclet style keys on it, but they are much more responsive than a laptop and still give that satisfying click. I've had mine for almost 6 months and I haven't had a single problem with it. I also do appreciate the hand rest which a lot of keyboards don't include, although I would've preferred a softer material to rest my hand on. The only other possible knock is the fact that oils show up very easy on this keyboard so be sure to keep it clean. I should also note that the rubber feet on the bottom and pitch stands make sure the keyboard goes nowhere. If you're getting this keyboard it's probably for the aesthetic appeal, and this keyboard nailed it. Looks fantastic paired up with my Ouroburos mouse. We all know green glows well on black. You can't go wrong with this keyboard, if this is your price point don't hesitate

Probably Prettiest and Slickest Gaming Keyboard Ever.....
Gaming is my main source of entertainment. So good keyboard is essential for me. Plus I don't want to spend too much on it. And here comes Razer Deathstalker. I bought this (backlit) keyboard more than a year ago and I love every minute with it. Letโs get to the point. First is looks and build. Keyboard looks just badass. With its aggressive but still subtle design it will look great on any desk. Plus nice green backlight doesn't hurt eyes and doesnโt distract either. Keyboard has non detachable wrist rest, which like entire keyboard is made out of plastic. Wrist is glossy but because of its texture it is not a fingerprint magnet. Overall I think keyboard looks and feels great. 5/5 However, is it usable? YES!!! I game all the time with it and it feels great. Keys are responsive and fast ( and surprisingly quiet), so gaming is just amazing on this. 5/5 How about added functionality? Keyboard has Fn key which unlocks additional options for keys, which makes this keyboard great for even non gamers. Plus it has Macro recording functionality. 5/5 Keyboard is fully compatible with Razer software, so you cans use full extent of Razer software capabilities. Overall, am I happy with my purchase? Yes. It is probably one of the best non mechanical keyboards of all time and it feels that way. If you want a great upgrade from generic keyboard which wonโt break your bank, this is the best option. 5/5

Best out there - Worth the cost
Ever since my husband got me into video games, the games I play are Warframe and League of Legends. We are both Razer fanatics so we have enough keyboards, headphones and mice. He was also able to get a Razer NZXT computer tower case when he built his super computer. Anyways. I had bought a Razer Blackwidow. I have no complaints about that one. Awesome keyboard. The only thing that didn't work for me was how loud it was. I am a secretary by occupation and work from home 3 of the 5 work days. So it would be so loud when I would have to type a lot. My husband had bought the Deathstalker to go with his new computer and I really liked how quiet it was. As well as the wrist support. A friend of ours in the clan that we started really needed a keyboard. So I gave him the Blackwidow because it was the one he always wanted which gave me the excuse to buy the Deathstalker. I love how quiet and low profile the keys are. The back-lit keys are awesome because we have the lights off when we game. Having the programmable keys are great because I am always hitting buttons on accident that can kick you to the desktop in the middle of a fire fight.

Fantastic keyboard worth the price. Great feel and flawless action.
Holy crap I had no idea what I as missing. I have a gaming rig but I really don't do games that require it. I drive a lot so I have a wheel. If you are shopping for a great keyboard get out of the accessories isle and go over to gaming. Very well thought out. Very comfortable for me and exactly what I needed and wanted. Lights up green, which is a bonus for me. Just a really well built solid keyboard in a form factor that works. No its not USB and Yes it will work for Any OS. I mainly use it with my rig for Windows 7 Gaming or dual boot to a Linux Distro for Pentesting. so it does a good job for both. The feel is excellent. I would recommend they increase the size of the wrist rest and change the material however that is actually something you can do for almost nothing anyway.

Great (looking) keyboard
I originally used a wireless Logitech k360 keyboard and I grew accustom to the little chicklit keys so when I saw that Razer had one with green backlighting, it was an instant buy. The keyboard is great. The backlight isn't too bright; you won't notice it during the day, but at night it's looks really awesome. The keys don't have any texture however they do shine up pretty quickly. The keyboard itself is nicely textured and not glossy and the USB cord is a great length. This keyboard does try to install software onto your computer. I was upgrading to Windows 10 and the Razer keyboard software came up DURING the installation..hilarious. You can tell it never remind you and it should never bug you again). All in all it's a great keyboard and I hope it lasts a while.

Excelente compra!

Great x 5
Great keyboard. Great design. Great packaging. Great functionality. Great brand. Thanks to the green back lighting, I can work quite efficiently in the dark without having to waste even a few seconds finding the less used function keys. The chiclet design makes running a Swiffer duster across it a breeze and easy to clean. The only complaint I have about it is how quickly the material or finish attracts grease from your fingertips. Once the oils are on, it'll never look like a new board again.
