Philips Wireless Neckband Headphones PN505 with Active Noise Canceling, Voice Assistance, Up to 14hours Play time, Hi-Res Audio (TAPN505BK), Black

I just received the headphones yesterday. This was a replacement for a headphone that finally was not working. I am pleasantly surprised by the noise cancelling. I walked by a landscaper who was blaring the blowers and could not hear them unless I removed the earpiece. So far so good and I may buy the product again. I was easy to charge, simple set up and not too many features to make use complicated. Well done Phillips and the price was great. Solid bass with the NC feature. I needed something that would fit around my neck instead of just earbuds. UPDATE: As of December 27,2023. Power On/Off Button has had a problem really after the third month of this review. Instead of repair, I am looking for a new pair of NC around the neck Headphones. If the power Button was better this would be a good choice. but now after only a year and a bit, probably not.

I liked almost everything about this product. It had wonderful sound quality, and the noise cancellation feature was the best feature. I used it inside my helmet when riding my motorcycles and it greatly eliminated wind and road noise. The first set I bought lasted approximately nine months. I like them so much that I purchased them again. This time they lasted about five months. On both occasions, they simply refused to charge. I took care of both sets, did not drop or abuse them or get them wet or damp. I can only conclude that the build quality is faulty. Too bad that an otherwise decent product is ruined by lack of reliability.

Worked great then after 3 years it stopped charging and working.

UPDATE As shown in my original review, I had a good opinion of the PN505. Regrettably, the Active Noise Cancelling stopped working. I am mad and feel cheated. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM !! ORIGINAL REVIEW This is the second unit I purchased. I bought the first one about two years and have performed like a charm. I initially purchased it to use while mowing the lawn. I needed neckband earphones with good active noise cancelling (ANC) so that they do not fall to the ground while riding the lawnmower. To my surprise, it came with a sound cable that I use it all the time while traveling abroad. After reading the reviews I was very surprised to hear that some consumers had battery life problems. I haven't had any problems with my unit. I was concerned about buying another unit in light of these complaints. At the end, not being able to find a comparable alternative with wired/wireless capabilities, I decide to buy another PN505. The first thing I did when I received the unit was to fully charge it and used it--listening music with ANC on--until the power level LED started blinking. It took eleven hours, not the twelve hours mentioned by the manufacturer but nevertheless pretty good...! Overall, the PN505 is a bargain. I also have Bose in ear headphones ... The ANC is pretty good though a bit below the quality of ANC in my Bose unit. Similarly, the Bose's battery last longer than the PN505's. However, based on my experience, considering that the Bose unit costs 3-4 times more than the PN505 it is easy to conclude that the PN505 is a good choice.

Very nice sound, great price, I'm sure someone mentioned the charging port tab is not attached to the headset. So when you're charging, you have to remove the little rubber tab and place it somewhere so you don't loose it. Otherwise great headset.

When I first got this, it was fabulous. Great sound and noise cancelation, long battery life, everything I needed. But after a month, it wouldn't turn on, wouldn't charge, nothing. I've been chasing Philips for a warranty repair or replacement since then. They have all of my information and the product. I have nothing. Two weeks ago, they said they would refund my money. Still nothing. And I have a growing feeling they simply say whatever it takes to get me off the phone with no intention of making it good.

These wireless headphones have clear sound and good bass, perfect for music or calls. The battery lasts a long time and the Bluetooth connection is stable. They are comfortable to wear even for several hours.

Not worthwhile. Sound is poor, noise cancellation ineffectual, build is cheap, connectivity is very poor, would disconnect repeatedly.

writing this review after the 1st day : 1. the product itself looks very good & made of premium-looking material. 2. audio quality : very balanced across bass,mid,treble. no exaggerated response anywhere. this is NOT a bass monster, so dont expect to feel like u are in a nightclub. the bass is natural sounding. 3. easy to use, all buttons are well laid out. the phones are very lightweight & i almost forget i am wearing them. i had no discomfort after 3 hours of use. 4. noise cancellation : as long as u keep realistic expectations, the ANC is generally good. it wont make your world disappear like with high end bose headphones. but it does a decent job of cutting out low rumbling noises & loud voices. quite useful if u are in a noisy home/office & want to focus on your meeting. 5. Inbuilt mic : has worked well so far & calls were very clear. 6. no opinion yet about google voice assistant as i dont use it. 7. the headset also (surprisingly) supports hi-res audio , but its wired only. not on bluetooth. thankfully, they have included the required cable to convert from 3.5mm jack to micro USB. have not tried it yet. should try tidal hifi & see if it makes a difference. it also comes with a nice carry case Overall, it does seem that philips has done a great job at the asking price of 10k. only time will tell if this product will withstand the daily rigors of travel, being stuffed in a bag etc. my sony bt headset lasted through 2.5 years of intense use before it finally fell apart. lets hope philips delivers on lifespan too. Finally, the product price has dropped 50% since i got it. its now 5k, which hurts when i paid 10k just few months ago. but anyone purchasing it now for 5k can get it without thinking.

I’ve received a box that has been cut, torn and opened and taped back together. I can only assume that someone has returned this opened box and it has been sent to me. Have they been worn? Probably. I need these for the weekend and expect a brand new set sent asap

The sound quality is miserable. When connected to my phone people can't hear me properly, the headset also interferes with the phone camera and stops the camera on whatsapp video calls (people get to see a black screen). People can't hear me properly either on skype when connected to my laptop. I tried it several times before returning it and I could only get a replacement. The replacement had the exact same issue. So the headset is expensive crap. What was even worse was the Amazon service. There was a lockdown and I tried to get my money back. Amazon CS told me on chat that I would get my money back and keep the headset. After I didn't get my money one week later I contacted them again and they said they didn't have records of this conversation and I wouldn't get my money back, plus the return window had closed. I have never been so disappointed with any online purchase! Now I have a crappy headset I can't use..
