How long do they take to dissolve?

I'd say about a minute. I wouldn't bother getting them anyway as they are rubbish and more like an expensive mint.

Can children take this as well and from what age?

I would check that with the manufacturer or your dentist. Personally I wouldn't give a child xylitol, which is probably the most active ingredient.
