I'd read another.....or six!!
This was really fun; it's nice to read a book in which the chief protagonist is a middle-aged woman. It lost a star as the writer seemed to have a bit of a struggle when it came to deciding whether he was writing in British or American English; half the time it was British with British spellings and then he'd convert to American, calling lifts elevators and throwing in the odd gotten which was a trifle irritating. He also had Patricia in sixth grade at school when it should have been whichever year that corresponds to in the British education system (year 6 perhaps?).Still, that's nitpicking; generally it was a good, fun read.

Fantastic introduction to the series!
I'd been reading the books out of order but they are still wonderful as a stand alone read. But this one starts off the Patricia Fisher books and explains how our wonderful sleuth became a sleuth. Her bravery and quirks are very endearing, as aren't we all a bit hesitant to jump into the deep end of the pool for the very first time taking a swim? Loved every minute of it!

Disappointing
Sorry missed the mark on this one. Unrealistic from the beginning - spoiler alert - location is small village but cheating ex not only parks his car outside the house where cheating going on but does it when the cleaner is there! Gossip anyone? The rest of the book seems to just carry on without any basis in facts - I know it's a story but still.

Steve Higgs will be or SHOULD be your new favourite author
I wish i could give it more stars. As usual Steve Higgs has excelled himself. The only one of his Patricia Fisher books i haven't read is The Directors Cut and im on the lookout for it. Again masterful writing with humour and a fantastic storyline. Treat yourself to one of his books. They'll leave you wanting more! Ive loved everyone of his books. Youd be made miss out on a real treat. Also check out his Blue Moon Paranormal series. With some great plots and characters. Thank you Steve for another brilliant book.

Cruise ship adventures
Patricia, after finding her husband in bed with her best (!) friend, decides to use his money to go on a cruise and immediately finds herself solving crimes on board. Fun and laughter, as well as danger, follow her everywhere. Always 5 stars for Steve Higgs.

This story kept me reading well into the night. Twists and turns in the tale kept me wanting to find out more! Can’t wait for what will come next for Patricia.
