Yes. The dolphins must be in their rings, floating in the water to work properly. Each dolphin has a different tone when you tap their heads.They are quite charming little critters. My grandson, from the time he started talking, would recognize and say "dolphin" when he would see one in his picture books after playing with them in his bath.
