This torch is probably my favourite (I have around 20 torches). The floodlight is very bright and the spotlight is a tightly focussed with an unusual square shape with a long throw. However, there are a few points which I don’t think come out of the manufacturer’s blurb provided by Amazon.1) You can only operate the torch with EITHER the floodlight or the spotlight. You cannot have both on at the same time2) Both lights are at the same brightness level when you toggle the switch between them. In other words, if you have the floodlight at level 4 then the spotlight will be at level 4 also when you switch to it, and vice versa.3) The battery pack is not replaceable as it is sealed into the unit.This is different to the comparable Fenix LR40R where you can have either or both of the lights on at the same time, and have different brightness levels for both. Also you can change the battery pack if necessary.4) The charger provided is an American plug with a UK 3 pin adaptor attached to it. This did not work. When plugged in the torch lit up to indicate it was being charged but nothing was happening. I left it on all night but it made no difference. It charged up quickly enough from the USB socket attached to my wall 3 pin socket that I wasn’t unduly bothered. However at this price level I think a proper UK plug should have been provided. I would have given a 5 star review but for this.

I purchased this from Amazon and have a range of flashlights that use a range of cells. This torch compares favourably even in comparison to other very high output torches and feels safe and well built. It is also worth noting that the torch can be used as a power bank to charge your phone etc.Flood is ridiculous on this at 14,000 lumens. Its not only the volume of light but also how it is projected. You will not find spots, or centre cones that are dull it is pure brilliant light. The 14,000 lumen output is thermally limited and Olight state 5-6 minute run time however on the one occasion i have used it at 14,000 lumens I did not note it stepping down despite being much longer. You will also find very limited opportunities to use this with 14,000 lumens.The spot light is rectangular and criticised often but I have no idea why. In terms of throwing a lot of light a lot of distance it does exactly as required.The torch has a non removable battery. Whilst it is known on many you can replace them you really have to know what you are doing as short circuiting even one of the cells inside (21700) would really cause damage, fire and such like so treat this as sealed for life (I have other Olight products with sealed packs that have lasted years and years.This torch locks out after 30 seconds and requires the button to be rotated 90 degrees. This is good because if a child or toddler got hold of it I think you would damage your eyes irreversibly potentially. It also has a proximity sensor and will dim the light if it turns on in a pocket or bag etc. Again this is good as if it were turned on in a bag etc it would damage/melt stuff.Its wonderfully built however it is expensive and you cant get around that fact. Amazon recently had a flash sale at £210 and Olight do occasional flash sales so that may help.

The torch has the build of truck, with its heavyweight body and IPX8 which gives it the highest water protection rating but does not list the protection against dust. So what does this torch offer that something a fraction of its price won't. Well the main features that this offers is the1. Brightness at 14,000 lumens, it's almost like daylight has come, when I flashed this into surrounding trees where birds roost, several of them were startled enough to take flight in the darkness, by far the brightest torch I have owned.2. Longevity of the battery on a single charge, a maximum of 59 hours, can't think of a torch which even comes close to this.4. Can function as a power bank, but not just any ordinary power bank but one capable of charging and being charged at 30W (in only 2.5 hours). The charging port is integrated into the body and can use any USB-C cable (included).5. Ruggedness, tough damage resistant body, coupled with the highest water protection rating makes this a formidable tool to have. Operation of the torch functions is simple enough however to make use of all the functionality requires a little getting used to however not too difficult. I you spend lots of time outdoors or in darkness and need bright portable lighting as well as a battery charging back then this might be great for you however if not then this may be overkill.
