Q: Is it big enough for a bonsai?

I believe so, having seen bonsai pots at the garden centers, depth seems similar.

Q: Is this deep enough for Aloe Vera plants?

It honestly depends on how big your aloe vera is. If it is a smaller plant, then yes, this planter would work for the aloe vera. But if your aloe vera is very large, I would say no. I put my three tiny succulents in it and it works fine for them.

Q: Do succulents(minature) need planting with drain at the bottom of pot?

It’s best to have drainage hole with all plants in a vessel (save for terrariums), as it ensures the roots will not remain encased in wet soil which causes root rot. This pot does have a drainage hole. Succulents and cacti especially need a drainage hole and if there is not one, keep a light hand with watering and concentrate on the root ball of each succulent.
