No rewiring of tank hood is necessary if you are using a true fluorescent instant start ballast. Tube lasts 50,000 hours and will pay for itself in just 1.5 years. This will be the last tube you buy. 6500K color promotes excellent coral growth and reduces unwanted algae growth.
