Seemed to be good, eat anything and lose weight but then 3/4 through he got into being a vegitarian even vegan. Not for me. I put the book down and never finished it.

Don't read this book if you like being overweight.
Wow, this truly is a life changing book.I've joined various pay monthly/weigh weekly slimming clubs over the years - counted syns, points/ pro points/ smart points, had red and green days and easy extra days etc - and always with a nagging thought of food in my mind. There's nothing better than being told not to eat something to make you want it even more...BUT - the difference with Allen is he tells you WHY and that makes all the difference and now I find myself losing weight, feeling great and REALLY enjoying food with no feelings of desire for "junk"In the first 2 weeks I have lost 8lbs - and enjyed every morsel that has entered my mouth. There's a lot in the press at the moment about how bad sugar is for us, how bad processed food is for us (Dolmio) and there's a new breed of "clean eating/living" guru's ready to take money off you. Don't pay out for faddy diets - just buy this book. You will save money in the long run believe me.Keep an open and positive frame of mind and read to the end - you won't be dissapointed!!

Rather misleading, but contains a lot of truths!
So basically you can eat as much as you want of whatever you like .......so long as it's fruit, nuts and seeds. And if you don't like these, then you train yourself to like them, because they are what nature intended us to eat. I would agree in principle that these are the foods that are good for us, but the book is misleading when it keeps reiterating that we can eat as much as we want of whatever we like. It clearly isn't true. The book is also padded out with a lot of waffle, repeated, and some rather strange analogies. It's also written in quite an amateurish style. However, in spite of these criticisms, I agree with the principles, there is a lot of truth in his ideas, and I have found it useful to refer to from time to time when I find myself sliding into bad habits.
