Whole Dried Chipotle Meco Chile 8 oz ‐ El Molcajete Brand for Mexican Recipes, Tamales, Salsa, Chili, Meats, Soups, Stews & BBQ

For years I've been using Chipotles In Adobo and Chipotle Moritas. The canned Chipotles are good for flavoring stews and Texas chili but don't really work well for salsas in my opinion. Moritas are pretty unpredictable, some are blazing hot, others not... although I do like them in a Salsa Macha. This brings me to the Chipotle Meco. At least twice as smoky as the other two mentioned...and nowhere near the blistering heat. Pop a few of these in your favorite salsa and you've just created an entirely new dimension of flavor. My new favorite chili that I've been searching for years. *Stay away from Goya Brand Chipotle Meco in the supermarket. I bought them and was a complete waste. Zero smoke, zero flavor.

Oh my goodness these are yummy peppers! They are a far higher quality than any chipotle peppers I've used in the past. Chipotle meca can be harder to come by in the United States, and is much more deeply flavored than the more common chipotle misa. You will not regret getting these peppers.

Best dried chipotle chiles I have ever bought, and I've bought many different brands over the years.You soak these in hot water, and after a few minutes the pepper is fully hydrated. Many other brands I've tried still stay somewhat tough after soaking, but not these. You get a pulp on the inside of the pepper just like when they are fresh which is again a rarity with dried peppers in my experience. They taste great, very smoky and fresh.I de-seed them so my kids don't complain about the heat, or leave the seeds in if I want medium spice levels. If you are careful, you can get all of the smoky flavor without the heat.An excellent buy, I highly recommend this brand.

My local store has stopped carrying the dried chipotle peppers and the canned ones are just not the same to me. These peppers arrived in great shape and are wonderful quality. Very pleased with this purchase.

Wonderfully fresh, soft, pliable and cuttable dried chilies with that smooth, smoky meco taste -- plus medium heat. A fine product, but individual chili sizes vary -- a plus or minus depending on how they're used. Recommended!

My wife is using these for Christmas Chipotles this year. Fantastic flavor and strong presentation.

I love chiles!! Chipotle are my favorites. They not only make my eyes sweat a bit but also but such a robust savor in my mouth. YUMIE YUMIE GOOD GOOD.Made my soup soo good, it almost overcame the rest of the meal.
