100 Sculptors of Tomorrow Hardcover – 5 September 2019

Good book. Interesting content. I bought it because 2 of my artists are part of this publication and was curious to find a hand full of more interesting artists. Wish the article on each artist was more elaborated. But great addition to my art book collection.

I love books and art books I await with huge excitement. This book has little or nothing to excite me. A few artists were good but on the whole there was not a varied enough selection for what is out there and I expected far more from it. Hence the disappointment.

I stumbled across this book on amazon whilst looking for a general book on sculptors for a friend who's a sculptor (I'm a painter). When it arrived I couldn't help having a read. It's a well presented book and quite weighty. There's some great intro essays - and then you get a couple of glossy pages on each of the 100 sculptors. I must admit I hadn't heard of many - but there was some really interesting stuff and it made me go off and do some further research on some of the sculptors. I think it's a must for all schools and anyone who really wants to know what's going on in this area. The info on each artist is quite light - but I think that's fine for this book - if you want to read more about the artist then go to their website. I think this book is aimed more at visual people. Very well balanced ... I might even get myself a copy now! [It would have got 5 starts if it want't for the font they used - it began to encroach on the visuals]
