I dehydrate garlic for flakes and powder. I find it does best in even slices, but this task usually takes a decent amount of time. This tool helps you slice evenly and quickly with an added feature to keep fingers safe. The photo is two whole heads of garlic and it took about two minutes to complete. It is easy to clean after and is not too big, so easy to store. I imagine it would be nice for slicing other small vegetables such as radish or Brussels sprouts. Note that the guard only works on the slicing side, so if you plan to use this for grating or zesting, you will not have that safety feature. Overall, I am happy with the purchase for my purpose.
